If you ever find yourself indulging in the very ratchet Maury, you’ll notice that on certain channels, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? comes on right after. It has been been hosted by only two people over the years: The very colorful Regis Philbin and the more dry but still lovable Meredith Vieira of The View and Today Show fame. But now you can add comedian and teddy bear Cedric the Entertainer to the list, because according to Shadow And Act, he’s taking over for Vieira, who helped launch the weekday version of the gameshow waaaaay back in 2002. He will start hosting the show’s 12th season and is sure to be immensely busy, as he will continue to star on the TV Land show Soul Man at the same time. Well all right playa, make that money…don’t let it make you! (Sorry, I just had to throw that in there).

While Cedric is probably very amped about another opportunity to get a check and reach a wider audience, someone equally as excited is Janice Marinelli, the president of Disney-ABC Domestic Television who said in a statement, “With his deep roots as a successful stand-up comedian and actor, Cedric will bring his fresh approach and unpredictable fun to the show.” And he most likely will, because this isn’t the first game show that Cedric The Entertainer has hosted. He was the host of the short-lived NBC game show, It’s Worth What? just a few years ago. He was good, it was just that the show wasn’t…

It’s very nice yet interesting to see so many black men hosting game shows these days. From Wayne Brady to Steve Harvey, who are actually very entertaining on their respective game show programs, and now Cedric the Entertainer. Black men are the new darlings of daytime television (just ask Michael Strahan). Sistahs, we need to get in on that! But congrats to Cedric, he’s definitely one of our favorite funny men.

Let’s take a look.

Did He Cross The Line? Wayne Brady Cracks Joke Using Sarah Palin’s Son With Down Syndrome

Wayne Brady rolled into dangerous 50 Cent territory the other night. I’m not talking Southside Jamaica, Queens, get shot nine times in front of your house danger, I’m talking making a reference to special needs individuals while cracking a joke in public.

The “Let’s Make a Deal” host was a part of Comedy Central’s recent roast of Roseanne Barr, but the laughs died down a bit when Wayne turned the jokes on fellow comedian Jeff Ross. He told the stand-up comic:

“Now the thing is Jeff … these are all jokes, and I really like you. I really, really like you. But a lot of people hate you, especially Sarah Palin because you remind her of what Trig is going to look like when he’s 40.”

Ouch.

There were some laughs from the crowd — and Jeff— but they were drowned out by the overpowering boos. Wayne Brady didn’t care though, he got a little buck in his response and told the audience

“Oh, now you boo me? F**k y’all. I don’t want to hear that. These people say all of this s**t about me, and you boo me because of Trig?”

OK then.

When 50 made his special ed joke about kids with autism, Holly Robinson Peete diplomatically put him in his place with an open letter. So far, no on has come for Wayne Brady’s head, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they do.

What do you think about his joke, fair game or too much?

Who doesn’t love cute kids? Of course you do, and that’s why you clicked on this post, boo. Let’s check out all the summertime fun celebs and their mini-me’s are having while we’re indoors slaving away at work (kidding!).

To start, Christina Milian and her cutie-patootie Violet (The-Dream’s daughter) have been vacaying it up in Jamaica. For the occasion, it only made sense to pull out the cutest of cornrows. Love their mommy-daughter time! And those cheeks that Violet has are asking for a pinching!

Speaking of cute kids with pinch-worthy cheeks, singer Tank’s daughter (whose name is Zoey) got her little model on alongside her mom, Zena Foster. The cute photo shoot showcased more mommy and daughter love between the 4-year-old and her mother. Cute, right?

Who hasn’t done dress up in mommy’s stilettos? Well, I didn’t, but this is still adorable.

And check out Wayne Brady’s twin! The comedian took his daughter Maile, 9, along with a family friend to check out the premiere of the movie, ParaNorman. I chuckled a little at little Maile’s ensemble, but Miss Thang is too cool for school. That movie looks cute by the way, he’s going to take their kids to see it?

And last but not least is Pilar and her daughter, Shelomi. Despite all the divorce drama, the two were seen taking in some beach fun in their pretty in pink swimsuits. Pilar knows she makes me sick with her rock hard body. If only I could put away the Cheetoes…ah well!

Cute kids indeed!

Too Much or Too Funny?

An all black, female comedy ensemble (with the help of Wayne Brady) created a spoof of The Real Housewives of Atlanta called The Real Housewives of Civil Rights. The cast includes Coretta Scott King, Winnie Mandela, Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, Betty Shabazz, and Marilyn Monroe is the obligatory white woman. The women play off the events of the time period, character exaggerations and stereotypes, while simultaneously highlighting the foolishness associated with their TV predecessors on RHOA. Check the video below:

Do you think the spoof accurately and effectively mocks the RHOA or does it cheapen the seriousness of an important time in our country’s history? Check out Black Voices/The Root for their analysis of the video.
