Soooo, it’s safe to say that Keyshia Cole has mad hate for superstar sensation Beyonce Knowles. On St. Patty’s Day, Beyonce dropped her latest single “Bow Down” and in a tweet to the world, Keyshia responded to the new song with, “First, “Women need to Stick together” now B****es better Bow. Smh. But it’s all G! Chicks stay shooting the s***. But when I speak my mind its a prob. #Well #StayMad.”

The funny thing is Bey doesn’t have to utter one comeback as her fans have already come back extra hard online . Keyshia might want to shut down her twitter account indefinitely after this one. #Womantowoman, if you mess with the Queen Bey, you will get stung . . . multiple times. #ouch#Let the tweets speak for themselves.

Maybe You Should Hire People Who Actually Understand R&B: Solange Goes In On Music Blogs Over Brandy Disses

Well if you didn’t know Solange was a Brandy fan, now you do. This weekend, Beyonce’s little sister had her fellow (wo)man’s back like no other when she sent out a slew of tweets defending Brandy’s latest album, “Two Eleven,” against poor reviews by what Solange sees as unqualified critics. From her messages, it’s clear she must have come across a critique that gave the LP a poor rating and that’s when she took to Twitter to do a little grading — or perhaps reading — of her own. Here’s what she said:

“Some of these music blogs could actually benefit from hiring people who REALLY understand the culture of R&B to write about R&B.

Some of these music blogs could actually benefit from hiring people who REALLY understand the culture of hip hop to write about hip hop.

Like you really should know about deep Brandy album cuts before you are giving a “grade” or a “score” to any R&B artist.

And ivy league credentials don’t give you any insight on “grading” a rappers body of work…when you’ve had no access to the REAL culture.

There are SO many gifted writers who truly understand. Who didn’t get hip to R&B & Hip-Hop via the crossover artist of their childhood.

Just hire them please ,so you can stop insulting peeps knowledge.

So you can stop acting like it just popped off last year for R&B. Like it just got interesting and experimental.

So you can stop praising every rapper who raps over a trap beat, but can’t form literate sentences & then you market it as some hip s**t.

And that wasn’t a rant. It was an observation and a request.

CC: every music blogger in the world.

When one follower responded to Solange’s “observation and request” saying, “Wonder if Solange could give us profound insight into REAL hip hop culture,” she replied:

“Nope, that’s why Im not a hip hop music journalist”

All in all, I’d say this was a rather rousing proclamation for people to stay in their lane — and perhaps a major push for folks to go get Brandy’s album if they’ve been sleeping on it. By the way, I wonder what the latest reviews on Solange’s EP “True” was. Bloggers beware.

What do you think about Solange’s Twitter request? Is she right?

Katy Perry Don’t Want None; Singer Shuts Down Beyonce ‘Diss’ Rumors

March 22nd, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Katy Perry wants the media to stop startin’ ish—although her actual words were much harsher. Yesterday, a few sites were abuzz because Katy seemed to be throwing a little shade at Beyonce when she talked about her upcoming collaboration with Rihanna on a BBC Radio show.

When Katy talked about the duet, which is barely in the works yet, she said this:

“I was telling her, you know that Eurythmics song with Aretha Franklin, Annie Lennox, ‘Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves’? That’s like the kind of song that I’d want to do instead of, like, ‘Hips Don’t Lie,’ which was still a great song by Shakira and Beyonce. I mean, not ‘Hips Don’t Lie,’ what’s that duet? ‘Beautiful Liar.’ ”

She added, “I loved it, but I definitely want to do something that is just kind of like, so iconic.”

Immediately people took their Beyonce loyalty to a new level and told Katy, essentially, don’t start nothin’ won’t be nothin,’ to which she responded:

“F*** all y’all . . . dat thinks I dissed anyone, puhlez,” she tweeted. “Get a life, cuz it’s not mine! #hoodratcominout. If ya ears are filled with wax it’s time to get a cleanse boo. Anywayz . . . (steps off box).”

I think I’m more concerned with her “hood rat” language than any potential shade, but I don’t think Katy was really trying to diss Beyonce. She just meant she wants a song that’s more classic and less cheesy, although word to the wise, Beyonce stans don’t play that.

What do you think about what Katy said? Was she trying to diss Bey?

Nick Cannon’s Not Having it with Chelsea Handler’s Mimi Shots

Everyone’s been talking about Chelsea Handler opening up about her relationship with 50 Cent on Howard Stern but Nick Cannon wasn’t hearing none of that. The proud father and husband was more concerned with what Chelsea had to say about his wife, Mariah Carey. She told Howard:

“Anyone who’s married to Mariah Carey I’m sure doesn’t have a great sense of humor. Shes’ ridiculous. What is her game plan? What kind of person operates like that? She’s worse than like Elizabeth Taylor. She’s just so ridiculous with her body. You see her one day and she’s 50 pounds heavier or light…there’s nothing real about her and her Hello Kitty or whatever.

Nick Cannon actually does have a sense of humor but not when it comes to jokes about Mimi. He unleashed on twitter with this:

“I hear @ChelseaHandler is out there talking s*** about my wife again! She’s lucky I’m trying to live right now! Jesus my cup runneth over.

I think @ChelseaHandler is still bitter that she got blasted on my radio show! It’s okay I still love you! When miserable people see happiness they must attack it. You know me, I’m always up for a good joke or wise crack but when people talk about my family the ‘Hood’ in me wants to come out! I’ve learned cooler heads prevail. Life is too short to focus on negativity!”

I love the “Jesus my cup runneth over” part. Great to see a man have his wife’s back, go Nick!

Are you a fan of Chelsea Handler?

When Emo Rappers Collide

December 22nd, 2011 - By Brande Victorian

I love that Drake and Common are going at it so hard and pretending their beef is about rap lyrics and not the fact that Drake is tapping Common’s ex-girl, Serena Williams.

The drama unfolded when Common released the song “Sweet” from his new album “The Dreamer/The Believer,” which has a line to the tune of:

“Singing all around me man, la la la / You ain’t m—–f—in’ Frank Sinatra / Uh, lil’ b—h.”

Immediately people assumed the song was a diss track aimed at Drake who’s been known to sing on a song or 200. Although Common claims that wasn’t his original point, now he says if the shoe fits…wear it.

“He opened his mouth and said some things, so if that’s what he want — all that subliminal [talk]… you could do that too, but say it now.

“The verse is about me, but when you hear some of the stuff on the chorus it’s like you can’t help but think about dude and I guess that’s what he felt. So, at the end of day, he fits in that category, he already embraced it, so wear it.”

Drake may have felt the diss, but he’s definitely not embracing it. At a recent show, he lightweight went off while he was thanking the crowd for their support, letting them know he’s no punk.

“I might sing, but I ain’t no b—h. If you got something to say, say it to my face.”

So what, or should I say who, is this really about boys?

Common would have no real reason to come at Drake if he’s a self-proclaimed “sweet” rapper himself, so tell us why you really mad son? Could it be that he’s still not over Serena? He can’t seem to get through an interview without singing her praises, and while some of that is obviously pushed by the interviewer, Common could say “no comment” if he really wanted to. As a matter of fact, he’s still gushing over Erykah too, and it’s been several years since they were together. Seems like he wants to put a little noise in both women’s ears that he’s open to the possibility of round two.

But it doesn’t look like Chi-town is going to get any play. Drake and Serena have been seen vacationing and hanging out together a lot, and when Complex magazine asked him about his relationship with the tennis pro, he said “I really, really love and care for Serena Williams. She’s incredible. That’s someone I’m proud to say I know. She’s definitely in my life and I’m in her life.”

The only plus for Common is that Drake has basically said that same thing in reference to Rihanna and Nicki Minaj too, and who knows what he told the video vixens he was messing with. There’s a slight chance their relationship is all in his mind (like it was with Ri Ri) because the thing about emo rappers is they get attached quickly, so Serena might tell him he needs to back up and slow it down. As far as Erykah goes, Jay Electronica’s not letting that happen.

What’s most amusing is that Common recently talked about how men love in JET magazine. He said, “Men go crazy over women. They go to prison, start wars, and lose hair over them. Don’t act like you can’t acknowledge it. It may be that you haven’t been through it, so I’m not afraid to say it.”

Well then it’s time for you to go ahead and say it now, Common. No one believes this lyrical cover up he’s got going on. We know he misses Serena, and it’s OK–almost cute even. We just need him to stop embarrassing himself out in the open and give the girl a call.

Do you think Drake and Common’s beef is really over Serena? Which rapper do you like with her best?

Keri Hilson No Likey Beyoncé? Singer Politely Disses Her at Soul Train Awards

"Keri Hilson"

I understand that competition in the R&B game is pretty fierce, but there’s just something weird about throwing such obvious shade at another chick in the game–and Keri Hilson did that while on the red carpet at the Soul Train Awards recently.

In the past, Miss Keri Baby has been known to let other singers in the game know (indirectly) that they aren’t real competition. Back in ’09 on the remix to her hit single “Turnin’ Me On,” everyone was saying Hilson allegedly threw subliminal jabs at both Beyoncé and Ciara. Lyrics included the following:

“Your vision cloudy if you think that you da best/You can dance/she can sing/but need to move it to the left… She need to go have some babies/she need to sit down she fake/them other chicks ain’t even worth talkin’ bout”

AND the icing on the cake, some say was for Ci-Ci, who Hilson has penned songs for in the past, came out like this: “Go head tell these folks how long I been writing your songs/I been putting you on/check the credits hoe!…If you want me you can find me in Decatur hoe.”

After people took sides and people kept asking the ladies if they had beef, Hilson and Ciara did manage to put on a united front, appearing together on Ustream together to talk about how everything was all good. And while it may be all good between them, Hilson still seems to have some issues with “King B.” While on the red carpet at the Soul Train Awards, she was asked by Juicy magazine to hold one of their issues and do a “drop” for the publication (“This is ____ with Juicy magazine!). But when she saw Beyoncé and Jay-Z on the cover, she had a major change of heart. Not only did she ask “Who is that?” but when she found out who it was, she replied, “No, I’m sorry, I can’t do that.” After that exchange, she seemed pretty pissed off at the interviewer and cut her the death face.

I’m not sure what the problem is or where the drama lies, but Hilson’s behavior wasn’t very cute, and she’s too cute for that! Especially since it wasn’t about liking or promoting Beyoncé, but about helping out the magazine. But what do you think? Was she dissing her or is this whole thing being blown out of proportion? Let us know!

Check out the video of the exchange with Juicy magazine below:
