Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star, Nikko Smith, boyfriend to Mimi Faust, recently admitted that he’s been married the whole time these two have known each other. Now for everyone watching, this was no surprise at all. It was very clear from early on that Nikko was an opportunist, trying to use Mimi and anyone else to get a bit of shine.

Recently, VIBE sat down with Smith to learn why and how he managed to do what he did for so long.

Nikko told VIBE, a story that was consistent with what Mimi has said on several different occasions, the two met 13 years ago, around the same time she and Stevie first starting doing their dysfunctional dance, and as Nikko puts it “used each other at different events throughout the years. I guess you could call it a one-night stand.”

Then VIBE asked her if this was the same time she was messing with Stevie. And Nikko gave this peculiar answer:

“She might have been with Stevie off and on. This was around the time they met. She was messing with him off and on. The same time when he was messing with Puff, and while he was messing with Annette.”

Umm… did he just say that Stevie and Puff…as in Puff Daddy were sleeping together? Maybe I missed something. VIBE didn’t press the question, so I guess we’ll have to find out later.

Anyway, he got on the show because the producers approached him to be Mimi’s new love interest.

They were looking for someone to be someone she was dating. They wanted to find somebody for her to date. Then I came along. It was something that I had to think about.”

But NIkko, who claims he was an executive in LA with a group signed to him, decided he’d give the tv world a try.

And while he was open, he wasn’t exactly pleased with the way he was portrayed on the show, he said he came off looking like an opportunist and a male chauvinist.

Hard to believe otherwise but let’s continue. Then they asked him about his marriage and how it all went down with Mimi finding out.

So, as we heard on the show, you are married. Can you recap how it happened?

After the mediatakeout article, she confronted me. Me and her did a scene. She asked me about all these rumors. I had to tell her on camera. I didn’t want to lie about it. Let’s face it. The woman I’m married to, she’s never gonna come on TV. I could have denied it, and this would only be speculation, but they would have never really known. I chose to tell the truth. I don’t know if that was a good thing or bad thing, for me.

How long have you been married?

I’ve been with this woman ten years. We got married in 2007. Our relationship was really strong. We decided to get married. In the process, our relationship fell apart, but it was a bad breakup. It was a messy breakup. We remained cool with each other. She was seeing someone else, and I was a free man. But we were separated.

Did your wife know you were going to do the show?

When I decided to do the show, me and [my wife] wasn’t really rocking with that. But I knew I had this responsibility. When I decided to do the show, she came to me and said ‘I know you about to do the show, do your thing.’ She was actually with somebody in New York, that she’s still with right now.

And you didn’t tell Mimi any of this?

She didn’t know any of this. I made a decision not to tell her, because there was so much going on with this Stevie shit. I’m looking at it different from the way someone else may be looking at it. I was taking this to my grave. This was some secretive shit I was doing. I didn’t tell Mimi. I didn’t feel as that she needed to know. Going into this third season, I think I might have stretched it out a little too long. I could have sat down and told her, but I didn’t it. I didn’t do it.

So are we going to see your wife on an upcoming episode?

She’s definitely not coming on the show. It ain’t got nothing to do with me convincing me. It’s not her kind of show. And the fact that she’s moved on already with her life. It ain’t like she’s gonna come on to bash me.

I can never trust anything that comes from this dude’s mouth. Especially, when Johnny, his roommate, was just on the television talking about how Nikko and his wife were business partners, even suggesting that she encouraged Nikko to do the show so they could both us it as some type of come up. And more than that, he alleged they’re still married because they share a connection. After a little bit of digging, that might not be so far from the truth.

The internets, including MediaTakeOut, the original website where Mimi learned Nikko was married, have claimed that Nikko’s wife’s name is Margo (or Margeaux) Simms, a bartender at Webster Hall in New York City.

And looking through Margo’s Tumblr page, there was an image of her and Nikko together promoting some type of mixtape for their group Invaderz. This was back in 2011 though. Still, there is or was some type of connection between the two. On the following page, check the social media pics of Nikko and this alleged wife together from a few years back, just two years before he joined LHHATL in 2013.
