You likely know people who frame most of their lives and decisions around the goal of not being like their parents. But, in that very way, their parents are still ruling their lives.
It’s all a psychological mess, but I know that I have many friends who grew up in very militant households, and it’s affected them as adults in their personal and professional lives.
