“She Actually Calls Me Mommy”: Tamera Mowry-Housley’s Daughter Often Mistakes Tia For Her Mom
How long did it take for you to be able to tell the difference between Tia and Tamera Mowry back in the day? While it’s quite clear who is who now that they’re adults (unlike Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen who are actually fraternal twins), for some, it’s still a task to pinpoint which one is Tia and which one is Tamera. One of the people having a hard time with this is Tamera’s daughter.
In today’s “Awwww” news, Ariah Housley often confuses Tia for her mother and when she’s around. The 2-year-old even calls her aunt “mommy.” Tia shared this adorable bit of information while posting photos of the twins’ family trip to Universal Studios. “She actually calls me mommy,” Tia said on Instagram. “I think she’s realizing I look just like her mommy. It’s the most adorable thing.”
Tamera has talked in the past about the methods used by Sister, Sister fans to tell her and Tia apart. She was often labeled as the goofball of the pair, which she didn’t like.
“Sometimes they see two people and they either say, ‘Oh, she’s the sexy one, or she’s the cute one.’ Well, I was known as the goofy, cute one,” Tamera said on The Real. “And I used to read our fan mail all the time, and that’s what I used to get, all the time when I was 16 years old.”
As she pointed out though, it was something she carried with her into young adulthood.
“Going to college, I carried that,” she said. “Oh, the goofy, cute one. I’m not the sexy one. And guys would literally go, ‘Oh, you’re so goofy.’ And I always thought it was a negative term, ’cause all I wanted to be was sexy.”
Tamera has since moved past her discomfort with the way people look at her in comparison to her twin (they’re both gorgeous), and we’re sure she finds Ariah’s confusion of her face and Tia’s to be just as adorable as the rest of us.
