Many of us were introduced to 24-year-old actress Alexandra Shipp for her title role in the biographical television film Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B. But since, we’ve seen her have an interesting evolution both career-wise and hair-wise.
Shipp’s own natural hair is long-flowing, jet black, and voluminous. But after landing the role of Storm in the film X-Men: Apocalypse, there went her hair and before we knew it she was posting photos on Instagram of her new sleek buzz cut.
In a recent interview with Elle, Shipp said, “I think every woman should just do it once in her lifetime. It is so liberating. It is like the world is coming off of your shoulders. It’s amazing and showers are like three minutes. I can get dressed and sweatpants look chic. And people think I’m a total badass and I’m super tough. I feel like a bit of a pit bull.”
Shipp also stopped by The Wendy Williams Show, where she was asked whether or not guys approach her differently now that she no longer has hair to so-called “hide behind.”
