Last night was the Met Gala, the annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in NYC. The theme for this year’s ball was “China: Through the Looking Glass,” so the stars were inspired by fashions from the far East. But were their looks a hit or a miss? We usually give you our two cents on the fashion moves of the stars, but this time around, we want to know your thoughts! Check out our favorite folks doing their thing on the red carpet and let us know if their ensembles were a hit or a miss.
WENN
Beyoncé
Rocking custom Givenchy and the highest ponytail you ever did see, Bey was ready to come in and make a statement!
FKA Twigs
The singer and her fiancé (check the ring!) made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala last night. Her gown was a unique Christopher Kane creation–with a penis on the side.
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade
No better accessory than a fine man! Union rocked this magenta Zac Posen gown while attending the event with her sartorially chic hubby.
Janelle Monaé
Now ya’ll know Janelle Monaé wasn’t going to go off the script when it came to her look for the night. But she was definitely in line with the theme in this custom H&M caped look with a mandarin collar top.
Katy Perry
Perry rocked custom Jeremy Scott for Moschino and to say she was colorful would be an understatement…
Naomi Campbell and Lee Daniels
Arriving alongside her friend and Empire boss Lee Daniels, Campbell looked radiant in Burberry.
Rihanna
If you come to a costume gala, you need to come correct. Check out Ri Ri in her jaw-dropping Guo Pei couture gown. Love that headpiece!
Sarah Jessica Parker
Parker rocked an H&M gown she helped design (you read right, H&M was killing it this year) with a custom headdress. You know the Sex and the City alumnus was going to stun in her own unique way.
Solange
No fights this year, just fierce! Solo hit the red carpet in this round Giles dress.
Spike and Tonya Lewis Lee
A lot of sparkle. A lot of lace. Are you feeling this power couple’s look?
Zendaya
You’ve never seen something as creative as Zendaya Coleman’s Fausto Puglisi dress. And can we talk about that train?!
Zoe Kravitz
Kravitz was in the house in custom Alexander Wang! We’re loving the box braids on the red carpet!
Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravtiz
Also in the house were Zoe’s parents, Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz. Nice to see them getting along so well and looking so good in Valentino.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend
The model and her handsome husband looked great on the red carpet! Teigen rocked a sparkling St. John gown and some romantic curls.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Roberto Cavalli does a body good! Just ask Kim Kardashian who looked white hot in her gown.
Jennifer Lopez
They don’t call her Slay-Lo for no reason! Check out Jennifer Lopez’s dramatic Versace gown that definitely had heads turning and tongues wagging.
All in all, whose look were you loving the most? And out of all the people on this list, who veered way left with their fashion statement?
