Columbus Short vs. Tanee McCall-Short

2014 wasn’t Columbus Short’s year. He lost his good job as a series regular on “Scandal,” due to his real-life scandals. He faced domestic abuse charges. Also, he beat up someone in honor of his estranged wife (Tanee). He videotaped her assaulting a friend (Tilly Key) who she believed was his mistress. And he admitted to using cocaine, which led to his termination from ABC’s political thriller.

Karrueche Tran vs. Chris Brown

Brown and Tran are on-again, off-again so much, it’s hard for news and blog outlets to even keep up with their tumultuous relationship. Brown recently took to Instagram to blast Tran for allegedly sleeping with Drake and aired dirty laundry about their sex life. He later apologized to her about his accusations and how went about expressing his feelings.  Nevertheless, their relationship continues to unravel, and it’s getting really old at this point!

Masika Tucker vs. Hazel E, Nikki Murdarris

Tucker got herself into some messes during the first season of “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” — fighting other reality stars over their men. First, Nikki Murdarris found out Tucker was dating or in Mally Mal’s words performing fellatio on him. She quickly tried to put her in check over her man. They threw drinks on each other. But Tucker eventually did the mature thing and told Murdarris she could have Mal’s two-timing, lying behind. But this was a different story when it came to Hazel E’s love for Yung Berg. Maybe, it’s because Hazel’s romance with Berg wasn’t real, but Tucker quickly turned against her and started dating him. Nevertheless, he allegedly beat her after the show’s reunion party. He denied these “rumors” even after being kicked off the show. She decided to stay with Berg.

Teairra Mari vs. Ray J, Princess Love

Teairra Mari definitely showed her crazy on the first season of “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” by putting her hands on almost everyone who made her feel some type of way. She told Ray J that if she sees his girlfriend Princess Love, she was going to sock her in the face for throwing out her belongings. Then, he proceeded to invite her to his party. Oh no! And when Love taunted her about finding vaginal cream in her bag, Mari tried to fight her in the club. Then, when she was trying to get over Ray, Mari had a tattoo of him removed when he came to the party and dumped out her bag in front of her friends. She hit him! Then, she tried to revive her career with the help of Sincere Show, but when he rudely criticized her performance, she swung on him, too. Oh, Mari! But she eventually got her stuff together…

Mariah Carey vs. Cracked Voice

This is a ratchet moment Mariah Carey technically had only some control over — losing her voice. But not deciding to take a break to preserve her voice is why she’s on this list. If any performance didn’t seal the deal then her Rockefeller Tree Lighting one did. A video of her voice stripped without the instruments and backing music surfaced online, and it was painful to listen. So what happened? Could it be her divorce with Nick Cannon? Well, she had vocal issues before then. Or could it be damaged done to her voice over time? Or could she have been just sick? She has gone to a throat specialist. Some have seen her perform since then — like theGrio’s Chris Witherspoon — right before the holiday and they were blown way. Maybe, it was just a series of unfortunate vocal events. Let’s hope!

“Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” Brawl

Stevie J and Joseline Hernandez are like the ratchet Bonnie and Clyde. The couple caused a massive brawl to breakout during the reunion of the last season’s “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.” It has been speculated for a minute they’ve been using hard drugs.While Stevie got up in Benzino’s face, Hernandez attacked his fiancee, Althea Heart. It was pretty brtual and chaotic. The couple fought with just about everybody during the season and during the reunion as well. A few people were treated after the brawl. Both paramedics and police were called to the scene.

Mimi Faust vs. Sex Tape

While some believe Mimi Faust was trying to stay relevant past “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” — claiming she knew nothing about her sex tape leak. It seems as though she was riding that shower rod for 15 more minutes. Nevertheless, when MN interviewed Faust she revealed that tape actually did leak and that she decided to make a business decision to profit off of it — instead of folks seeing her “business” for free.

She and boyfriend Nikko Smith rid on the “success” of the tape. Nevertheless, the tape was allegedly “stolen.” Or maybe he just leaked it or maybe she was actually involved in it as well. She made $200,000 when her sex tape was sold. Then, she found out her boyfriend wasn’t who he said — he’s married! Yep, her cluelessness of being used for fame is the reason why she’s on the list.

Danity Kane vs. Danity Kane

Danity Kane, the popular girl group from “Making the Band 3,” have been more tumultuous than an on-again, off-again relationship. Well that’s basically what it has been — on-again, off-again. After four of the original five members reunited in 2013, fans were expecting greatness. Some drama arose when D.Woods allegedly try to sue for use of her vocals during the group’s reunion, but she was quoted giving the ladies her blessings, although she wouldn’t be part of it. Nevertheless, all seemed well (once again) with the ladies. Then, Aundra Fimbres respectively left the group in order to pursue marriage and a family in the spring of 2014. But after that, the drama started…. again! The first time the girls broke up in 2008 they kept their issues a secret prior to that break up. They did this once again. Aubrey O’Day — in her fashion — disrespected Dawn Richard and she reacted by punching her in the head during a studio section back in August. This led to the now trio’s break up… again! Richard didn’t like how O’Day came for her and how she planned secret meetings without her. Due to the violence, Shannon Bex, of course, sided with O’Day. And Richard was outed. Their planned third album was scrapped over the summer. Nevertheless, the material they’ve recorded (and already performed during their “No Filter Tour”) was released on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 to acclaim. Richard dominated the group’s records as usual although she wasn’t invited to the release party. She’s gearing up to release her next solo effort, “Blackheart” in 2015.

Bill Cosby vs. Rape Allegations

This has been one rough, ratchet year for Bill Cosby’s reputation — a year filled of growing proof he has sexually assaulted at least 34 women with the 33rd woman P.J. Masten claiming he raped 12 more Playboy Club waitresses in the 1970s, according to Mic. His rep has been pretty much destroyed with more than 30 women coming forth saying they were drugged, sexually assaulted and/or raped by one of America’s greatest family entertainers. Many of the women provided details about the day/night they were assaulted by him — having similarities about him in their stories. Cosby has even been accused of assaulting famous supermodels Beverly Johnson and Janice Dickinson. Many of the women were allegedly assaulted by the comedian during the 1970s and 1980s — having created an united front against their assaulter.

Johnson wrote an essay about her horrible experience with Cosby. She said “the plight of black males” has nothing to do with Cosby — calling out his access to power that most black males do not have. “He brought this on himself when he decided he had the right to have his way with who knows how many women over the last four decades. If anything, Cosby is distinguished from the majority of black men in this country because he could depend on the powers that be for support and protection.”

Cosby refuses to comment on any of the accusations, but his team denies all of it.

Azealia Banks vs. T.I.

Azealia Banks and T.I. have been shading each other all year. Their issues started when she blasted his protege Iggy Azalea in 2012. She doesn’t like how Azalea can appropriate her way unauthentically into black culture and hip-hop culture — benefiting from the success yet not caring about black-related issues. But when she jabbed him on Twitter — talking about his wife, he really came for her. He blasted her on Instagram for assaulting his wife. And she responded with a Twitter rant. Both parties low-blowed each other and have been throughout the course of 2014. Although, both have valid issues with one another.

Kenya Moore vs. Porsha Williams

Kenya Moore kept jabbing and jabbing at Porsha Williams. This happened during the reunion special of “RHOA” until Williams went into attack mode — physically assaulting Moore. She called the police and a warrant was put out for Williams’ arrest. Although, she was arrested briefly, she wasn’t kicked off of “RHOA.” Although, she was later demoted for having a boring storyline.

Apollo Nida vs. Eight Year Sentence vs. Phaedra Parks

For a period of time, he probably thought “RHOA” star Phaedra Parks would stick by his side when he to be sentenced for his crimes of identity theft and bank fraud. But nope! She gave up on their already-rocky marriage. Nida called her out  for not sticking his side before he headed to prison (for an eight-year sentence). Nida’s poor decision of looking to make money illegally — costing him time with his family and working on his marriage — is why he’s on this list.

Keyshia Cole vs. Sabrina Mercadel

Keyshia Cole saw Sabrina Mercadel in Birdman’s home — coming out of the restroom and she went into attack mode. She thought Mercadel was the other woman. It turns out she wasn’t. She was just part of the party he had thrown. Nevertheless, Mercadel got a restraining order, and she claimed Cole damaged her finger as well as pulled her hair and scratched her. Cole wasn’t prosecuted for the attack, but love surely makes her cray-cray.

Kim Kardashian’s Nudity vs. the Internet

Yep, Kim Kardashian apparently breaks the Internet with her ratchet ways. During a time when so many important issues are in the news, she can decide to “shut down” the Internet to expand her brand — showing her skin, which is how she initially became famous in 2007 after her sex tape with Ray J leaked.

“She represents the living contradiction of the generation: Freely sharing the private details of our day-to-day lives, but only through carefully chosen hashtags, selfies and tweets,” said Megan Hartman from the Red Peak Youth branding agency, according to MN.

“She is an expert at courting controversy and keeping herself in the news, but always for the benefit of her elevating her brand.”

Robin Thicke vs. Paula Patton

It was announced earlier this year Paula Patton and Robin Thicke split up. Rumors speculated it was over another woman. Thicke said cheating had nothing to do with the breakup. Instead, he mentioned he had a drinking problem, which damaged their relationship. He pleaded with her throughout 2014 — even naming his latest LP failure, Paula. The couple never reconciled. Instead, they filed for divorce after a decade of marriage in October 2014.
