Chevy Chase
Chevy Chase marked his return to television by playing the cantankerous Pierce Hawthorne on “Community.” But by the fourth season he was going at it with the creator Dan Harmon over where the direction of the show was going. Chase decided to leave the show before he was fired and he left in 2012 after having filmed most of season four. Harmon killed his character Hawthorne off of the show the following season.
