It’s always good to be involved in a charity to give back to those less fortunate but these celebs paid it forward by taking some time out of their day to perform a random act of kindness and help a perfect stranger.
WENNAmy Adams
Amy Adams put some good karma in the air last week. The “American Hustler” actress had arrived at the airport to catch a plane back to Los Angeles when she noticed that there was a soldier on the same flight. The Oscar nominated actress discreetly went up to the soldier and gave up her first-class seat and instead sat back in coach. “I didn’t do it for attention for myself,” Adams told “Inside Edition.” “I did it for attention for the troops.”
Woody Harrelson
After having left a party, Woody Harrelson was walking down the streets of Manhattan on an ordinary night when he came upon a homeless woman who was looking for some change. Giving her everything that he had on him, the “True Detective” actor handed over $600. The homeless woman appreciated the gesture and according to the “New York Daily News,” she apparently recognized the famous star and exclaimed, “Thank you, Woody! White men can jump!”

From the start of her career, Lady Gaga has been a strong advocate for believing in yourself even if you dance to the beat of a different drum. After finding out that one of her fans killed himself because he was bullied over his sexuality, she shared a picture of the teen during her concert and dedicated her entire performance to him as an act of solidarity for him and other young teens who may have been going through a similar situation.
T.I.
Since completing his latest stint in prison, rapper T.I. has turned his life into the picture of a model citizen. Branding himself as a fun-loving family man on his reality show, T.I. was on his way to an Atlanta radio station for an interview, when he learned that someone at a 22-story building ready to jump. T.I. and the unidentified man shared a brief conversation before the cops escorted him to the hospital to be treated for depression.
Nicki Minaj
Five minutes out of a celebrity’s life could mean the world to someone. Especially someone like five-year-old Damiyah Telemaque-Nelson. Nicki Minaj learned that the little girl was battling cancer and while undergoing bouts of chemo wanted to don one of the “Starships” singer’s pink wigs. The Young Money princess paid Nelson a visit and had a special gift in tow. She gave her a pink wig of her very own and in exchange the little girl gave Minaj a bracelet.
Russell Brand
Russell Brand is a star both here in the U.S. and in his home country of the U.K. but he still remembers what it’s like to be at rock bottom. The “Get Me To The Greek” star has been vocal about his heroin and alcohol addictions so he has a soft spot in his heart for the downtrodden. Brand has been spotted numerous times stopping to help a homeless person he passes on the street. In one instance he even came across a small group of homeless men and took them out for breakfast at an L.A. eatery one morning. On another occasion he offered a shirtless man a white t-shirt and a bottle of water.
Tyler Perry
When a person goes through hardships of their own, it’s much easier to understand and have sympathy for someone else’s woes. Filmmaker Tyler Perry certainly remembers what it was like to go without. After hearing that a specially equipped minivan was stolen from a woman with celebral palsy, the “Why Did I Get Married?” actor stepped in to help. He replaced the van for 24-year-old Alicia Day, who is in a wheelchair and relies on the van to get to her part time job at Home Depot.
Zach Galifianakis
Zach Galifianakis is a funny man with killer comedic timing and a big heart. Long before he was starring in box office hits, the “Hangover” star befriended a woman named Mimi at a local laundromat. After becoming famous and learning that Mimi was living on the streets, Galifianakis offered to pay her rent and on top of that, he brought her along to “The Hangover III” movie premiere as his date.
Mila Kunis
Actress Mila Kunis hired a contractor to do some work in her home and in the middle of the job he suffered a violent seizure. The star wasted no time leaping into action. She grabbed the man’s head and told her friend to call 911. Kunis used the man’s wallet to place it into his mouth to prevent his tongue from rolling back in his mouth and choking him. When paramedics arrived, she even offered to ride in the ambulance with the man but was told it was unnecessary.
Keanu Reeves
They say as you get older, you start to want less in life and that may be the case with Keanu Reeves who has given away a huge chunk of his money. Donating his “Matrix” money, around $80 million, to the special effects team and the costume designers, Reeves feels that they’re the ones who truly deserve credit for the blockbuster franchise and its success.
Patrick Dempsey
He plays a doctor on TV that spends a lot of time in the E.R and what he learned by playing Dr. McDreamy on the show may have come in handy in real life. After hearing a crash outside of his Malibu home, Patrick Dempsey leapt into the action. Armed with a crowbar and fire extinguisher, he was able to pry 17-year-old Westen Masset out of his smashed up Mustang before he lost consciousness. Dempsey called paramedics and stayed with the young driver until help arrived. The “Grey’s Anatomy” star even called the teen’s mother Mary Beth for an update.
Johnny Depp
Who knew that Johnny Depp was such a softie when it comes to children? After reading a letter written by a 9-year-old schoolgirl seeking help in pulling a mutiny over the teachers at her school, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star dressed up as the pirate Jack Sparrow and showed up at her London school. Escorted by some of his cohorts from the movie, Beatrice Delap told the story about what happened when Depp showed up. “He asked where I was in the audience. I put my hand up and then I had to go up and he gave me a hug,” Beatrice told the local television news. “He said, ‘Maybe we shouldn’t mutiny today because there are police outside monitoring me.'”
Cuba Gooding Jr.
Sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time. Back in 2007, Oscar winner Cuba Gooding, Jr. was sitting in his car outside of Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘n’ Waffles waiting for his dinner order one day when he heard four gunshots. Gooding rushed to the aid of one of the victims who was bleeding from his neck. The “Jerry McGuire” star applied pressure to the wound and waited with the victim until help arrived. He made a full recovery.
Christian Bale
He plays dark and brooding characters but in real life Christian Bale has a heart of gold. Upon hearing that Batman was the favorite superhero of an 8-year-old boy battling cancer, the “Dark hero” star gave him a call. Bale left little Zach Guillot with these sage words of advice: “anybody can be Batman. Anybody can be as strong as that, and help people and put good out into the world.”
Ryan Gosling
Most people who come across people fighting in the street would walk away and keep going. But not Ryan Gosling. The actor stumbled across two men scuffling over a painting. Dropping the grocery bag he was carrying, Gosling jumped in between the two and pulled them away from the street when people watching the scene noticed who the famous mediator was. Turns out one of the men were in the process of stealing the artwork from the other guy who was a painter.
