There are a lot of myths, rumors and misconceptions out there about the male, um, package. And since some of us are too shy to ask guys the truth (or do a little investigation!) we’ve researched the answers for you. Here are 15 misconceptions about the male anatomy.

size matters to women

One study actually found that it’s largely men who are dissatisfied with the size of their members, meanwhile most women (85%) reported being satisfied with their partner’s size.

A great tool can outweigh a bad personality

In fact, for most women, the size of a man’s tool is pretty far down on the list of priorities when it comes to a man’s attractiveness. Personality, hygiene, ambition and sense of humor come far before that!

Size varies between races

Many ethnicities have been shafted (no pun intended) by the myth that men within that ethnicity have less than desirably-sized members. But there has been no evidence to prove that size varies between races.

It shrinks with age

Shoe size determines other sizes…

Don’t judge a man in small shoes! Studies have found that there is no correlation between shoe size and the size of what your man is working with down under.

The average size is 8 inches

That’s a generous myth! The average member is 5 to 6 inches long, erect.

He fills that condom up

The adult films in which men literally rain their bodily fluids everywhere are just not accurate. The average, um, deposit contains just about one teaspoon of fluid.

He could aim at the wall and make it

Another myth perpetuated by adult films is that bodily fluid can fly several feet if not contained, when in fact, it only travels about 7 to 10 inches.

A man can last hours

Well kiiiind of. The real measurement of how long a man can last is how long he can last if he is constantly thrusting. If a man thrusts a little, stops, drinks some water, starts again, stops, changes positions etc. sure, maybe he will last an hour. But that’s not a real hour. With constant thrusting, most men will finish in three to seven minutes.

If he finishes in five minutes, he suffers from premature ya-know-what

This connects to our last point, which is that it’s normal for a man to finish within three to seven minutes if there is non-stop thrusting. Finishing prematurely is defined by finishing in under two minutes and thirty seconds.

Men can’t fake it

Actually one study found that around 28% of men fake having an orgasm through many of the same ways women do—moaning, moving in a different way, breathing heavily etc.

A man can break his member

A man cannot break it but he can fracture his member, which is still very painful!

Most men are circumcised

That is true within the United States, but around the world, only about 30% of men are circumcised. But even in the U.S. the percentage of circumcised men is dropping.

Riding a bike won’t hurt anything

Not true! Unfortunately, riding on a skinny seat can cause erectile dysfunction in men. Think about it: all of their body weight is sitting on that very important body part. So think of something else to do on a Saturday afternoon other than go for a bike ride.

Toys are just for women

Vibrators can in fact be so effective on men, that they can help men with spinal cord injuries have an orgasm. So image what they can do to a perfectly healthy man.
