After Chuck Smith went on Real Housewives of Atlanta and basically said he slept with both Phaedra Parks and Kandi Burruss when he was an up-and-coming football star and they meant nothing else to him, folks were up in arms. I mean, he basically looked like the biggest pig ever, and his comments shed a negative light on both him and his family. Since the disgust has died down, Smith spoke to a site called Gossip Extra, and the 44-year-old said that he could have talked to Phaedra differently, but that wouldn’t have changed the truth.
When asked what the hell he was thinking when he slammed Phaedra on that long ride home from the Boys and Girls Club event, he said it was all an unfortunate situation…for him:
“I should have talked about them (Phaedra and Kandi) in a different way. And I should’ve given my wife a little more information about them. It’s just unfortunate I got caught in this situation.”
But despite his behavior, Smith says that his success and years in the NFL, and all he does now, shouldn’t be overshadowed by his short time on RHOA:
“Why is what I did at 27 that important? It should be about what I do now, teaching the art of the pass rush and how to be a good NFL rookie.
I’ve been surprised at all these attacks, which are more directed at my wife than me.”
Smith says that he messed with Kandi because she was a sweet girl, and well, “her momma cooked good food.” But yet and still, he was a player, and everyone who knew him, including Kandi, knew the deal:
“…we were in a lifestyle of entertainment. I had four girls in every corner of the stadium.”
And while both he and Kandi knew the deal, according to Smith, he feels bad that Phaedra misunderstood their “relationship.”
“Phaedra was just the ugly ducking from the sixth grade. It’s unfortunate she got caught up in this.”
He needs to just stop talking because nothing he says helps his image. Just do better, bruh.
