If you watched Real Housewives of Atlanta on Sunday, or since the season has started for that matter, I’m sure you know by now that Momma Joyce is vehemently against her daughter Kandi Burruss marrying soon-to-be hubby Todd Tucker. She’s done her best to put a wrench in their relationship, including dissing Kandi’s engagement ring, claiming that Kandi’s daughter Riley doesn’t like Todd, calling the man an opportunist to his face, and trying to jump up to beat down Kandi’s friend Carmon. But now, after the latter situation had people going absolutely HAM on her behavior via social media, she decided to finally share her side of the story. According to Momma Joyce, she’s so frustrated and exhausted–and has lost sleep–that she says doesn’t care anymore if Kandi and Todd marry. She still thinks Todd is an opportunist and Carmon is trifling, but the drama has literally made her so physically sick that she’s going to let Kandi be.

Here’s what she had to say in her interview with Radar Online:

“I’m out of it. Whatever Kandi does, it is completely her decision now. I wish her well. I just hope that this is the right choice for her.

They have worn me down to the point where it has made me sick. I just don’t feel like Todd is the right choice. I think he’s manipulative…I’ve tried to shield my child, but i’m tired. I’m over it. I pray to God I’m wrong about him.

If Kandi is happy, I’m happy. At the end of the day, she’s the one who will have to deal with him not me.”

Yes, she discussed her behavior at Kandi’s wedding dress fitting too, and no, she doesn’t regret her behavior. Being Kandi’s mom, Joyce thinks that Carmon should have exited stage left when she asked her to leave since it was more of a family event:

“This was my daughter’s wedding dress fitting. If Carmon was the friend and ‘daughter’ that she always wanted to be, she should have gotten up and left when I asked her.

A lot of people who worked for Kandi and I have told me that Todd and Carmon were acting like much more than friends around the house. They may have squashed the relationship for now, but I truly believe they were doing things behind Kandi’s back at one point.

I’ve confronted Kandi [about the cheating rumors] — but she’s still with Todd, so who knows. It’s her choice, and I wish her well.”

It would have been nice if Momma Joyce had decided to support Kandi without having to talk to the media to still reiterate that she still doesn’t think Todd is a good fit for her child. But hey, I guess this is much better than throwing shoes and not speaking to folks, right? What do you make of Momma Joyce’s statements and her rationalization for her behavior?
