Jake Checks The President
I haven’t liked Fitz for a minute but last night he was particularly annoying. So I was very ready for the moment Jake walked into the Oval, suited and booted, ready to let the president know the real deal. Apparently, aside from the fact that they’ve both slept with Olivia, there is years of tension that exists between these two. But perhaps Fitz was too self absorbed to notice it. So Jake broke it down for him. The whole thing is in the video below but in case you can’t watch, here’s what he said when the president asked him what was his problem.
“Remington is my problem. Just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, doing my duties, serving my country, I get sucked into the wake of your political destiny and end up enslaved to B613, to Rowan for the past 22 years. Meanwhile, you shake a few hands, you say a few words, you become governor and then president. You didn’t have my back on that mission. You still don’t.”
He tells the president to get off his butt and do something about Rowan and B613. Fitz says it’s not time yet. As Jake is walking out, Fitz tells him he’s not interested in being a hero but interested in being Olivia’s hero, to which Jake responds “Must be nice letting other people fight your battles.”
Weeeellll… until Jake said that I never noticed that Fitz really doesn’t do much on his own. Everything is delegated to someone else or someone else is always cleaning up the mess he’s created.
I did notice that Jake said the president didn’t have his back during the mission so it’ll be interesting to get their full backstory and find out what he meant by that.
