During a recent interview, Love & Hip Hop star Peter Gunz claimed that ex-girlfriend, Tara Wallace, actually assumed the side chick role while he was with another woman back when they first met. Though Tara told the Breakfast Club that initially, she was unaware of Peter’s involvement with the other woman, they still continued with their relationship after she found out. Check out some highlights from her interview.
On co-parenting with Peter:
“We are not still together, but we have two children, so that’s a bond we will always have. And we will always have to communicate because of that.”
On learning that he cheated on the show:
“The smack that you guys saw was right after the smack she[Amina] hit me with—that information was a smack. So I found that out in that moment that they were married.”
On Peter claiming she was his original side-piece:
“He said that? Well, I guess that’s part of Peter’s continuous cycle. I’m sure there’s always a triangle involved with Peter. I was dating him. I was in graduate school We were just dating for fun. We were friends. At some point we became friends with benefits. But again, I was in graduate school. I was in New York for the first time. I was just trying to have fun. I thought he was a funny guy. So we were just kind of dealing with each other.”
“He was involved with someone and I did not know. I did speak to this young lady at some point. And I was like, ‘Listen, we’re just friends. I don’t know what to tell you. No, he didn’t tell me [he was in a relationship].’ He said he was breaking up. As years progressed, this young lady moved to another state and at that moment he and I really became close. We became a couple.”
On rumors that she’s a trained actress and the love triangle is fake:
“I wish I were that talented. I am an actress. I do have an MFA. [The show] is good to use as a platform to do what I came here to do. I can probably pay off some of the student loans I have.”
On Amina Buddafly:
“You know, Amina was a person that I was encouraging him to manage. I still do think that Amina is a great songwriter. Mariah Carey should be singing these songs. Nick Cannon should be listening to this, like really promoting this girl’s music. One day I sat him down and said, ‘What’s stopping you from managing her wholeheartedly?’ And yeah…”
On laughing about the love triangle:
“I laugh because it keeps me from going home and wanting to crack him upside the head when he comes in. We don’t live together, but he’s over a lot. We have two kids. I expect him to take the kids to school in the morning and pick them up. We watched the show together yesterday and about four pairs of shoes went flying across the room.”
“When I found out Peter was married I couldn’t eat. I was just in the bed. My emotions were up and down. I mean, that’s a hard blow.”
While we feel for Tara and her situation, you know what they say, how you get ’em is how you lose ’em.
