Adjua Styles has a sweet life–literally. Her company is Couture Sweets, which creates custom-designed sweets and cakes. Her tasty creations have attracted everyone from celebs to high-profile corporate CEOs.
Born and raised in New York City, Styles got her formal culinary training from the New York Restaurant School but her eclectic style is all her own. Even stiletto master Manolo Blahnik was fascinated with her work when she created a shoe dust bag cake for his Neiman Marcus shop.
What she wished she knew:
“I am a control freak. So I could of learned to release some control to others . I do wish I would of learned and understood the increase every month in cake products. Really expensive. Therefore my prices have to change because the price most reflect that. It may seem simple but it’s not because I have same customers and sometimes they don’t understand.”
