10 Successful Business Owners Pass On Insight They Wished They Had When Starting Out

This Omaha native has spent the last 25 years she says learning from mistakes and uses her experiences to help others as a momentum expert and transformational coach. One of her ventures is The Momentum Institute for Women, whose goal is to empower women in their efforts to transform their lives.

Hart not only graduated from Howard University at the age of 32 but became a tenured college professor. In 1999 she completed her MFA. A single mother, she put her  ‘Don’t Quit’ attitude into play when she faced enormous amount of debt and mounting bills. She took on two part-time jobs and started performing in theater.

But she hit a low point when she contemplating suicide when she was repeatedly harassed because she couldn’t pay her student loans. She decided she would do whatever it took to live debt-free, living a cash-only existence in 1999, eventually both buying and selling her home and paying off $70,000 in student debt. Even a battle with breast cancer didn’t stop her. Through her soul message company, Mindset Mojo LLC she inspires others.

What she wished she knew:

“I wish I’d known that  I didn’t have to wear my game face.  That it was okay to admit to what I didn’t know and to find a coach to support me.  I wish I’d known how to set my fees and how to be more strategic with creating the kinds of systems and mindset to for success.”
