She Wasn’t Shooting In The Gym, She Was Raising Our Kids: Kobe Bryant Defends His Wife On Twitter

Last month we told you how after nine long months of being taunted by Drake’s infamous “You wasn’t with me shooting in the gym” line from his verse on Rick Ross’s “Stay Schemin” track, Vanessa Bryant had finally broken her silence via Instagram. She informed her followers that she didn’t need to be with him “shooting in the gym” because she was taking care of home. If you recall, in that particular line, Drake was referencing the healthy chunk of change that Vanessa would’ve been awarded back when the two almost divorced. Up until recently, Kobe remained fairly quiet regarding the matter.
The Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard recently tweeted about enjoying morning tea with his wife when a fan and Twitter follower reminded him of Vanessa’s absence during those long hours he spent in basketball practice.
“@kobebryant @LadyVB24 but… #SheWasntWithYouShootinInTheGym,” the fan tweeted.
Kobe calmly came to his wife’s defense.
“@lukashMAYYN No, she wasn’t. She was busy raising our kids #nonanny #respectmothers”
It’s good that Kobe is finally coming to his wife’s defense in this matter, especially since he used to seem thoroughly amused when fans would chant the phrase in an effort to demonstrate their support of him. It may have something to do with the two being officially back together and dismissing their divorce action, which Vanessa announced last month via Instagram.
Now that Kobe has spoken, hopefully we can put this overused, abused and misused one-liner to rest once and for all. Although, it was a bit humorous to see fans actually walk up to Kobe and say it.
