Some men have long hair – which is fine, depending on which way the wind blows (literally). These long-haired men don’t have to be pimps either. They can be rappers or ballers in the public eye. Oh wait, those are “pimps.” Either way, check out our collection of celebrity men who have a Rapunzel complex…they are the hands-down disciples of that creamy crack!
Kat Williams
Comedian Katt Williams brings out the best and worst in his hair. From the long hair to the curly locks, Williams’ hair has earned a spot as one of the trendiest perms on a black man’s head.
Snoop Dogg
Rapper Snoop Dogg has kept his mane manicured since his prime in the rap industry. He is one to experiment with the same hairstyles, ranging from press perms to tight curls or braids.
Al Sharpton
No one more than Rev. Al Sharpton has slick hair down to a science. He stands out as a political gabber with no tolerance for violence, racism or social injustice. Speak your mind Rev.!
Dwight Eubanks
When the Housewives of Atlanta call on their designer Dwight Eubanks for fashion advice, viewers can’t help but notice his baby curls up-close and personal for all to see. It’s apparent that the ’80s chemical craze has never left his slender side.
Jermaine Jackson
Singer Jermaine Jackson’s hair went from an afro-loving sensation in the ’60s to jheri curls in the 1980s. Now, it seems his hair never misses a beat or should we say a relaxer! It’s so straight, it’s windproof. Truly, when does his hair ever change?
Nickolas Ashford
It’s open to debate which member of the famous Ashford & Simpson singing duo, Nick Ashford or Valerie Simpson, has more locks. We say Ashford does because he’s never deviated from his main attraction and that’s his long, permed hair!
Prince
R&B singer Prince delivers gut-wrenching songs, dances and awesome hair! The 52-year-old performer has maintained the fiercest waves since he stepped on the music scene. Who knows if he still uses the the same chemical straighteners he used in the ’80s? He may very well have switched to blowouts instead of relaxers. But, what does any of it matter? He’s Prince for pete’s sake!
Eddie Long (*side eye*)
Well, we don’t know what in hot Crisco hell this “bishop” has on his head, but hey, there’s tons of other information we don’t know about him. We just know he goes the extra mile to treat his hair. He switches from questionable-looking jheri curls to questionable-looking toupes every Sunday during his “worship service.” Let the church say ‘what the…’
P. Diddy
P. Diddy can no longer hide from us. For years, he has sported what appears to be a chemical wave applicator on his head, in order to add sheen…or something! As much his waves could be disputed, we stick to our beliefs (pictured above) that he is experimenting with various hair products for men!
Michael Jackson
The late Michael Jackson is revered as a pop icon who impacted every musician imaginable. We’ll never forget his transformation from cute-little-child afro to grown-man permology.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
Rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony produced rap musical compilations that summed up their big screen appeal. The mid to late 1990s group had no qualms about keeping their hairs relaxed and their bones thuggish-ruggish.
Charlie Rangel
Embattled congressman Charlie Rangel of New York loves his locks. For that reason, he has kept them straight, fine and aged like wine during his tenure as a hard-knock politician.
James Brown
James Brown, otherwise known the “godfather of soul,” brought originality to the musical forefront. His hair is iconic for its permed out look. Could you have imagined the godfather with a baldie?
Flava Flav
Rapper and reality star Flava Flav’s hair regimen ranges from cornrows to straight hair. Which do you prefer on him? The straight look, or the braided look?
Antoine Dodson
Antoine Dodson is the holy son of dod…you go boy, with your tresses that went from being underneath a red doo-rag on the telly tube to being so free and fabulous! No man or woman man can touch Dodson’s perm. Not a one o’ ya’s!
Ron Isley
This lead singer and founding member of the family music group The Isley Brothers has been slicking back his hair with all kinds of chemicalizationsss since he hit the stage. To see Sir Isley with his own hair at this point would be to see Dwight Eubanks with a round nose. No sir. Not happening!
Verdine White
If you don’t know whom this long-haired piece of chocolate is that’s staring at you right now, we’ll give you three hints: Earth, wind, and fire! Ring a bell? Verdine White (and brother Maurice) formed the American R&B and funk band “Earth, Wind & Fire” in Chicago, Illinois, in 1969. One more thing he formed: a habit of perming the heck out of his long, flowing hair. It’s his signature now.
