3-Week Construction Impasse Ends
(Chicago Tribune) — A labor union on Wednesday officially brought an end to a nearly 3-week-long strike that halted hundreds of construction projects throughout the region. The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150 ratified an agreement that was tentatively struck late Monday between the unions and an association of road contractors that allows work to begin on hundreds of road, building and school construction projects in the Chicago area.
