Ahhh, the video chick. We hate them, we love them and then we hate them again. I know its not the most respectable job in the music industry but if the women can manage to parlay that into something better for themselves, I say more power to them! Let’s check out a few of the ladies who’ve made it past the drop it like its hot stage…

Elise Neal
Ohhh you didn’t know that’s how Elise got her start? Yep, she was in videos for artists such as Father MC, Chubb Rock and Aretha Franklin! I would say this would make her an OG in the game. She’s has had pretty decent success since moving into film and television.
Tae Heckard
Miss Tae might be my favorite former vixen on the list. Originally known by her birth name, LaShontae, she’s been in videos for Nelly, Brandy, Kanye, T.I., Dru Hill and countless others. She made the transition from video chick to actress in her first role in the movie ATL. We can now see her in a recurring role on The Game.
Esther Baxter
Esther got her “big break” by being featured in Petey Pablo’s “Freek-A-Leek” video. She moved on to videos for bigger names such as Ludacris, Kanye West and Will Smith. She’s had some drama within the last year with her ex-boyfriend, rapper Joe Budden, but she’s bouncing back. If you happen to follow Esther on Twitter, you know she’s an amazing cook; she’s started her own food website and is apparently working on a cookbook.
LoLa Monroe
Good ol’ Angel LoLa Luv has appeared in videos for Soulja Boy, Busta Rhymes and Lloyd Banks. Her “assets” were always questioned because she’s a very small woman with little hips but a huge backside. Nonetheless, it worked out for her and she was able to slowly but surely display her skills as…a rapper. That’s right, she considers herself a rapper which is why she changed her name to LoLa Monroe. The respect as an “emcee” has been an uphill battle but she’s not giving it up.
Buffie the Body
The first time I saw Buffie, I was convinced she had the biggest butt I’d ever seen. You couldn’t help but look whenever she was in a video (Tony Yayo/50 Cent, Cam’ron, etc…) and just say, “Wow.” But like all the rest, it was time to move on from the videos. Her original plan was to write a book a la Karrine Steffans but she quickly shelved that idea for something else: health and fitness. That’s right, Buffie is actually a certified personal trainer now and has even competed in some bodybuilding contests. On a personal note, I can tell you I’ve tried her workouts and they are no joke! I fully expect a dvd line to come out soon.
Lauren London
Nope, I sure didn’t forget about Ms. London. She may be known now for her role in ATL as “New New” but she got her started in music videos. Oh yes, she was in videos for Snoop Dogg, Tyrese, Ludacris and Pharrell before she hung that gig up. Since ATL, we’ve seen her in This Christmas, Madea’s Big Happy Family and next season, she’ll join the case of The Game.
