Your thoughts can be one of the most dangerous things to ever cross your path. They can ruin you if you aren’t too careful. What you speak, even when it’s most absurd, can turn into your beliefs if you let it. Turn to God’s promises instead. Remember that time Jesus slipped up and asked “why” on his way to die for us? That proved it was okay to have feelings. They’re always legitimate; that’s our nature! But even when Jesus could’ve used His power to save Himself, He quickly remembered His purpose. Nine times out of 10, this path we’re on, what God has planned for us, is bigger than just us.
Philippians 2: 1-8 says “So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
When things don’t go your way, when people disappoint you, when you’re not satisfied with your surroundings, when you’re not confident in yourself… think about the lesson in that season. It may be preparing you for something far greater than you could’ve ever imagined if you’re open to receive the gains by actively searching for your purpose, staying strong-minded, sticking to the mission and practicing humility.
