When sisters experience low libido or difficulty reaching orgasm, they should communicate with a professional; as they may need to switch to a new, non-hormonal form of birth control. Ceasing normal hormonal for at least three months is optimal to reset the body. For some women, this can take longer. At least, women will be able to gauge whether or not their libido has revved back up.

If using the pill to manage other symptoms such as cramps or acne, be sure to have a backup remedy to address those issues while on the birth control sabbatical.

So, can the pill mess kill a woman’s sex drive? The answer, like the female orgasm, is complicated.
