Earlier this week, in Los Angeles, a number of stars came out with their mothers to take part in the third annual celebration of VH1’s event, Dear Mama: A Love Letter to Moms. They came dressed in their Sunday best (on a Thursday) to show love to the women who raised them and helped them get where they are today. Attendees celebrating their moms included Diddy and his mom Janice (who is the queen of blonde wigs by the way), Gabrielle Union and her mom Theresa, and Colin Kaepernick and his mom, also named Teresa. Everyone in attendance enjoyed performances by Teyana Taylor, Bobby Brown, Jhene Aiko and her daughter, Namiko, Jessie J, Ne-Yo and Patti LaBelle. The event was hosted by La La Anthony and Anthony Anderson and will air on Monday, May 7, at 9/8c on VH1 ahead of Mother’s Day.
In anticipation of the special, check out a who’s who of beautiful people and their mothers, and a few famous moms who rode solo for the fun.
