When Black girls find natural hair inspiration, we hold on tight. That’s why we haven’t let Sonequa Martin-Green go since we first peeped her glorious natural mane on red carpets after she joined the cast of The Walking Dead in 2012. The actress, who turns 33 today, recently talked to Elle about her nighttime beauty routine, saying when it comes to her hair, “If I’m wearing a curly ’fro, I’ll put it up into a ‘pineapple’ at night, which is piling it on top of my head and wrapping it in a silk scarf. [For the shower] I’ll just put on a shower cap, and when I come out, I tease it down and scrunch it with warm water.”
