It must be really hard out here for actresses…especially black actresses, because there is no reason for another movie based around the seedy/troubled lives of strippers to come out. And definitely no need for another one starring LisaRaye. But alas, that’s what we can expect as a clip from the new movie Lapdance has surfaced, thanks to Carlton Jordan. In it, we see that Lynn Whitfield, as well as Carmen Electra, Obba Babatundé, and Stacey Dash, who plays a doctor in the movie. I guess these two ladies were able to get over their squabbles from the time they fell out while filming Single Ladies.

According to MissJia, LisaRaye actually stars as an aspiring actress who has to make money as a stripper in order to help pay the medical bills of her father, who is battling cancer. Things get ugly when her career choice affects her relationship with her fiance. Whitfield and Babatundé seem to be the people behind the strip club she works at, and Whitfield definitely shows her feisty side with this dialogue…chicks better have her money.

I’m a little disappointed that Whitfield, known for her great acting work in movies like Eve’s Bayou and The Josephine Baker Story, is doing movies like this, and that even LisaRaye has found herself in this same ‘ol, same ‘ol role. And the clip is doing the most. Why is the dressing room the smallest one in history? Why do the strippers look like they’re the age of somebody’s grandmother? And why is Whitfield talking like a Southern pimp?

We couldn’t start this list without acknowledging the man who inspired the headline. When you come out with a song titled, “Prostitute Flange” and announce, “I Wouldn’t Care If You Were a Prostitute and You Hit Every Man That You Ever Knew. See It Wouldn’t Make A Difference If That Was Way Before Me And You Girl,” you can only assume he’s living what he’s rapping about. We can’t say if he was literally speaking on the past of ex-girlfriend Trina, who joined him on that track, but every now and again Weezy’s face pops up in an Instagram pic with a random groupie, and that special relationship he has with Superhead is oh so suspect.

Whatever tricks a dancer at the Penthouse Club in Philadelphia has up her sleeve, I need to learn. Or maybe not, because a result of the stripper busting it open for a real patron, the gentleman’s club is now being sued by the customer who alleges the pole dancer twerked it on him so bad he had to have surgery.

According to KTLA news in LA:

Patrick Gallagher claims he and his friends went to the Philadelphia-area Penthouse Club for his bachelor party back in 2010. His bachelor’s package” included a special performance from a stripper.

During the dance, Gallagher was laying on the stage when the stripper slid down a pole “with such force” that she ruptured his bladder upon landing, according to the lawsuit.

The next morning Gallagher went to the hospital where he was told he had suffered internal bleeding and underwent surgery, the lawsuit said.

Gallagher also says he suffered nerve damage to his back and hip. He is now seeking $50,000 for medical costs, pain, humiliation and mental anguish.

Um Pat, maybe you should have stayed in your seat with the rest of the customers. I know strippers can go pretty hard, but when bladders are getting ruptured, either you are too old to be there in the first place, or someone is working way too hard for their money. I’m just curious how Patrick explained this whole situation to his fiancee.

Well, let’s make that a former NBA player and now coach.

Mark Jackson, former member of the New York Knicks (and Indiana Pacers but that’s an afterthought), former ABC/ESPN announcer and current head coach of the Golden State Warriors found himself in the midst of an extortion plot after carrying on an affair with stripper Alexis Adams in 2006.  What he didn’t expect after he ended the affair, which lasted less than one year, was that Adams would hold on to everything he’d sent to her and use it against him.

According to The Smoking Gun, Adams and a co-conspirator, Marcus Shaw, set up an initial plan in April which ended up with Jackson being approached by Shaw with pictures he’d sent to Adams of his “private area” and demanded he fork over $5,000. Mark did so with no hesitation because he’s been married for 22 years to Desiree Coleman-Jackson and is also…an ordained minister.  However, that wasn’t enough for Adams and Shaw.

Two weeks later, Shaw emailed Jackson’s wife to give her the first opportunity to buy extra pictures he had before selling them to the public. He further added that he wasn’t trying to hurt her but “this is business, nothing personal.” This all became too much for Jackson who then turned to the FBI for help. They quickly turned this into an extortion sting and after all was said and done, Shaw had asked for $200,000 to which Jackson agreed to pay. It can only be assumed that when the exchange was supposed to take place, undercover agents were right on the scene to pick up Shaw and later, Ms. Adams.

What an embarrassing nightmare.  It’s one thing to cheat (which we know isn’t right) but it is something entirely different to cheat with a stripper and then get caught in an extortion case. You either need to keep it in your pants or be smarter about who you’re “sharing” with.

Before you ask, yes his wife has been standing by his side through it all.  After all, he was a huge star in his prime; do you think this is the first time she’s heard about extramarital affairs?

I’m always surprised after I watch an Amber Rose interview. I remember the first time I ever heard her even speak was in an interview she did with Bossip this summer. I was pleasantly surprised. As much as I was ready to count her off as just another former girlfriend, turned household name for no good reason, I couldn’t help but notice that she seemed like a genuinely nice person.

In this business you could either sell your soul for money or you can do what they tell you to do. I just decided to take another route and just be myself. I have to do what makes me happy and I have to sleep at night, so I can’t sell out.

One thing about me is that I’m not a home wrecker. I would never date a man that’s in a relationship or a married man. I broke up with Kanye and he broke up with Kim and we met right after. We were both going through a hard time so we we were like each other’s rebounds basically. It was brief, it was nice and he’s a great guy.

I just want to keep it moving.

Is it difficult for you to have girl friends?

Yeah, it’s very difficult. I had an assistant, which I thought was one of my best friends and she became obsessed with me. She became a stalker. She was listening to Wiz more than I listened to Wiz. She had Wiz stickers all over, she shaved her head and it was weird and crazy.

Ask a lot of people what is one thing they wouldn’t do for money, and a lot of folks say being a stripper. There’s something about putting your goods on display for complete strangers that gets the degrading stamp and a boo boo face from some people. But if you ask NeNe Leakes, it isn’t anything to look down upon whatsoever. In fact, it’s fun. During an interview with Bravo and the cast of The Real Housewives Atlanta, she broke down her past in the exotic dancing world as a 20-something mother like this:

“I sold a fantasy, not p—y. Like that’s just what it was. I just felt very powerful. I made a ton of f–king money, like I just couldn’t stop. I went and bought a brand new car, I was paying my son’s tuition. I thought of the men as an ATM machine. I gotta tell ya, I liked it.”

But Leakes is not the first celebrity to get their start dropping it like it’s hot only to leave it all behind for big fame and success. Just after a friend sent me an email about how Hot she felt after a pole dancing class, I see “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Nene Leakes dishing on how she felt empowered back in her stripper days.

She told Essence.com, “I sold a fantasy, not p***y. I felt powerful. I made a ton of money and I couldn’t stop. I went and bought a brand new car, I was paying for my son’s tuition. I thought of the men as an ATM machine.” Now I know why she gets along with Kandi.

Is it just me, or has she told this story before? Anyway, I’m sure there’s a huge diff between playing on the pole and working it, but I can see how you could get caught up in the money and providing a fantasy to men willing to turn over their paychecks for a tease.
