I’m Gonna Do What I Have To Do: Royce Defends Herself Against Custody Battle Critics
On Monday we told you how the custody battle between reality television star Royce Reed and NBA player, Dwight Howard over their son Braylon had taken a bizarre turn as Royce filed a motion petitioning for Dwight to be made financially responsible for her legal bills because she could no longer afford them and had already racked up a tab for $44,113.50 that is expected to increase by another $60K. Her reasoning behind filing this motion was that Dwight’s healthy bank account would allow him to easily hire an army of lawyers, which would force her to drop out of the case because she could no longer afford to pay her attorneys.
Her claim that Dwight’s ability to “outspend” her made the battle an unfair fight left many looking at her with the side eye just because it seemed unreasonable for her to ask for Dwight to foot the bill for his oppositions defense against him in court; however Royce took to her Twitter page to address the critics.
“We will never struggle… Period! Braylon will always have the best! That’s what I fight for!”
“Mom Law: My son deserves the best & rather than take food out his mouth, the roof from over his head, an education, extracurricular activities, great Birthdays & Christmases, the smile off his face, I WILL file necessary motions. Judge that if u live in a Glass House!”
Royce’s extreme mommy instincts seem to be kicking in as she appears to be doing all that she possibly can to win this battle against Dwight who is battling her for sole custody of their son. The judge handling the case has yet to make a decision as to whether or not Dwight should be responsible for Royce’s legal bills, but for the sake of Braylon, we hope the two-year custody battle ends soon. Possibly instead of fighting for sole custody to spite one another, the two could reach some sort of joint custody agreement.
What do you think of Royce’s response?

Fo’real? Royce Reed Wants Dwight Howard To Pay $100K So She Can Battle Him In Court
In random “Basketball Wives” news, it is being reported by TMZ that reality star Royce Reed, the mother of Los Angeles Laker’s center Dwight Howard’s son Braylon, is petitioning that the judge handling their ugly custody order Dwight to foot the bill for her legal fees. Yes, you read correctly. Royce wants the man she is battling in court to pay for her defense efforts against him. It seems that Royce believes the fight for sole custody of Braylon is an unfair one because Dwight has enough money to “outspend her.”
Royce filed the petition in Florida stating that she is no longer in the financial position to afford those steep legal bills she’s been racking up lately running back and forth to court with Dwight. She claims that because Dwight brings in $1.3 million each month, he is able to hire the best attorneys and that he can even hire an entire team of attorneys which would only leave her swamped in legal bills that she can’t afford and that this would eventually cause her to drop of out of the battle.
The court documents reveal that so far Reed’s bill is a whopping $44,113.50 and it is expected to increase by another $60,000 if she and Dwight continue to battle it out in court, summing her legal bill up to $106,621,80.
It seems that being cut from Basketball Wives came at the worst possible time for the 30-something single mother. Yes, she is probably correct when she says that Dwight has the ability to pulverize her with a team of great lawyers, but she’s completely delusional if she thinks he should be responsible for paying her legal fees — although that typically is how these things go among the rich and the famous. See Usher and Tameka Raymond as exhibit A. So far a judge has yet to rule on her claim, but I would be surprised if the outcome of the ruling is in her favor.
Hopefully the couple is able to reach an amicable agreement for the sake of their child who would most likely benefit the most from having both parents in his life.
Do you think Royce has a decent argument for wanting Dwight to pay her legal bills?

My Goodies? Not My Goodies! : Celebrities Who Pulled The V-Card (Virgin)
There’s something to be said for a person who has their beliefs and sticks to them…or they at least try. Some celebs have made a vow to hold out on giving up their “V card” (virginity card, folks) until they’re married or until they meet the “right one.” Others have tried to stick to these beliefs…and stumbled along the way but hey, I guess they held on as long as they could!
See who had or has held on to their goodies….
Royce Has Something to Say, Wants Judge to Lift Dwight Howard’s Imposed Gag Order
If you’ve wondered why Royce Reed never talks about her son’s father, Dwight Howard, on “Basketball Wives” there’s a reason. When she signed up for the show back in 2009 she agreed to gag herself from speaking about him on camera, but for some reason she now wants that to change.
Royce has reportedly requested that the gag order be lifted and that the legal documents listing the allegations she has against Dwight be made public. Considering the former couple is in the middle of a bitter custody battle , it can be assumed Royce has some not so nice things to say about her baby daddy and perhaps she wants public sympathy. I’m not so sure how that will help her win full custody of her son, so maybe she just wants to spice up her “Basketball Wives” storyline a bit.
TMZ expects Royce will accuse the Orlando Magic player of having corrupt morals, a poor mental state, and displaying unreasonable behavior, and Cinema Blend points out that talking to the press about these issues will likely add some nice cushion to her bank account. Hopefully that’s not what this is really about. So far, the judge hasn’t ruled on this request, but considering this is the same judge who refused to remove himself from the case after she accused him of having a “baby mama bias,” I think it’s safe to say Royce will be keeping her lips locked on Dwight.
Do you think the judge should lift Royce’s gag order?

Royce Reed Accuses Judge of Baby Mama Bias in Custody Case with Dwight Howard
“Basketball Wives” cast member Royce Reed has filed a motion to remove the judge handling the custody case over her son with ex Dwight Howard for an interesting reason: baby mama bias.
Royce says Judge Tim Shea doesn’t care much for single mothers who have babies out of wedlock with pro athletes, as evidenced by the fact that he didn’t let her present her side of the case during a court hearing last month. Royce’s attorney has also filed an affidavit saying that during the hearing, Judge Shea said he would award Dwight custody, then decided to delay his decision, despite the fact no evidence had been presented.
Royce also feels the judge may side with Dwight because he’s a local hero, but he also has a glaring conflict of interest, she says. On Judge Shea’s website, one of Dwight’s lawyers, Mayanne Downs, is listed as one of his endorsers. That fact alone ought to be enough to get him taken off the case.
As for Dwight’s end of the battle, he claims Royce interferes with his relationship with their son and makes it difficult for him to see Braylon on his scheduled days, so he wants to be granted primary custody rights. Typically, it’s harder for a man to gain sole custody but he appears to be hoping for a Dwayne Wade ruling.
What do you think about Royce’s baby mama bias and conflict of interest claims? Should Judge Shea be removed from the case?

Frankenbrotha: Creating The “Perfect” Man
Ok, we know there’s no such thing as a “perfect” man. The beautiful eyes may come without the gorgeous smile. And the intellect may not always match the sense of humor. But it’s hump day and we decided to have a little fun by putting together some of our favorite features from some of our favorite guys. Forbes' Top Earning Black Celebrities
In Forbes’ annual most powerful celebrity list, the business publication aggregates earnings, social rank, and press rank, among other things, to determine which of Hollywood’s glitterati wields the most influence in pop culture. Well, we stripped it down to the basics: how much money did each earn. Better yet, we compiled how much money did the top African-American celebrities earn. And the results are interesting to say the least. We’re not sure how Usher managed to make SO much money, even considering that he had a successful album out in the past year, but we’re guessing his stake in Justin Bieber pushed him up more than a few notches.

How Did Baby Mother and Father Relations Go So Sour?
Is it just me, or are the relationships between mothers and the fathers of their children getting worse and worse?
No, I’m pretty sure it’s not just me.
Statistics made public near the end of last year by the government put out there that 72 percent of black children are born to unmarried mothers. There is nothing wrong whatsoever with being a single mother, especially if you share custody with the child’s father, allow healthy visitation, collect a reasonable amount of support for the child and most importantly, get along. You don’t have to be all buddy buddy, but you need to at least be civil to one another. We all know the petty things men and women do to one another when they are heated, and when there’s a child involved, there’s no place for all that drama. And drama is expected these days (think of when a woman dates a man with a child they always ask themselves, “am I ready for baby mama drama?”). But watching the news and reading the blogs, I’ve found hateful crimes between baby mothers and fathers, childish lawsuits and damaging language about each other played out in public. All this proves we need to know folks a lot better and a lot longer than we used to before we lay down and produce children with them–cause things are getting real ugly.

Real Housewives of New Jersey
Season 2, Reunion Show Part 2
CHANNEL: BRAVO
“Unbeweavable”
The housewives from the Garden State gathered together for part two of the reunion show. Teresa showed some upper body strength in the first part when she pushed host Andy into a chair while she was trying to get at Danielle. This time around, Teresa manages to keep her hands to herself, but she calls Danielle a Beyotch like it’s her real name. “Do we ever stalk you, Beyotch? No.” Classic.
The whole hour is a lot of yelling and talking over one another. Danielle’s bizzaro beef (that has gotten new life on Twitter and Facebook) with Jacqueline’s teenage daughter comes up, but it’s mostly about she said-she said amongst the grown ups. These women gossip like high schoolers. Anywho, Danielle provides an impromptu Weave 101 lesson when she explains how hard Jacqueline’s daughter must have pulled her hair in order to snatch out her very secure weave.
But my favorite New Jersey housewife will always and forever be Caroline. She is the kind of auntie you want in your family. When Danielle tries to make peace at the end by hugging Teresa and Jacqueline and shaking Caroline’s hand (she knows C Killa ain’t gone hug it out), Caroline’s response is “This is the biggest crock of Shyte I’ve ever seen in my life.”
The reunion ends on a positive note with pretty much all the ladies agreeing to a truce of sorts, but all that playing nice didn’t help Danielle. Bravo has already announced that Danielle will not be returning for the next season. I wonder who will take her place. Hmmmm.
