Fourth of July is this weekend and like any good American you should be at a BBQ sipping on something cold. Every season of the year has its best drinks and the summer is all about refreshing fruity cocktails. Whether you like it sweet, salty, tart or bubbly we have five drink recipes with a twist that will excite every palette.

1. Guava Margarita
Ingredients:
1 cup guava juice
Lime wedges, for rimming the glass and garnish
Margarita salt, if desired
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1/4 cup sliver tequila
1 tablespoon Triple Sec or other orange flavored liqueur
1 tablespoon simple syrup, recipe follows
Directions:
– Pour the guava juice into an ice cube tray and freeze overnight. (One cup of juice should make 8 standard ice cubes.)
– Rub a lime wedge around the edge of a margarita glass and dip immediately in the margarita salt, turning to coat. Place the glass in the freezer for 10 minutes.
– In a blender, combine the lime juice, tequila, Triple Sec, simple syrup, and guava ice cubes and pulse until smooth. Pour into the prepared glass, garnish with a lime wedge, and serve immediately.
2. Watermelon Vodka Slush
Ingredients:
4 cups watermelon flesh, seeds removed
2 fluid ounces simple syrup
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 cup vodka
2 fluid ounces melon liqueur
4 twists lemon zest, garnish
Directions:
– In a food processor, puree the watermelon flesh. Pour the pureed watermelon into empty ice cube trays and freeze for at least 4 hours. Also, freeze 4 martini glasses.
– In a blender combine the frozen watermelon cubes, simple syrup, lemon juice, vodka, and melon liqueur; blend until smooth. Pour into 4 frozen martini glasses and garnish each with a lemon twist.
3. Mango Mojito
Ingredients:
2 lime wedges
5 fresh mint leaves
1/4 cup club soda
3 tablespoons rum
2 tablespoons simple syrup
1 tablespoon mango nectar
Crushed ice
Directions:
– Squeeze the lime wedges into a small glass; add wedges and mint to glass.
– Crush with the back of a spoon for 30 seconds.
– Add soda, rum, Simple Syrup, and nectar; stir gently.
– Serve over ice.
4. Thug Passion
Ingredients:
2 oz. Alize liqueur
2 oz of Champagne
Directions:
– Shake ingredients over ice and serve.
5. Caribou Lou
Ingredients:
1 1/2 part 151 proof rum
1 part Malibu® coconut rum
5 part pineapple juice
Directions:
– Shake and serve with ice in high ball glass.
6. Sex on the Beach
Ingredients:
2/3 oz Schnapps peach
1 1/3 oz Vodka
1 1/3 Cranberry Juice
1 1/3 Orange Juice
Directions:
– Combine all ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice.
– Shake and strain into highball glass. Add ice.
