For many men, fall is all about football season. And that’s fine. But for the ladies, you need a little more of a lead on where to meet a great guy aside from just lurking around a sports bar. You can’t really chat there, and it’s just not a good time or place. So here are some classier spaces where you can meet some eligible bachelors this fall.
Comic book stores
There’s nothing wrong with a man who has a love of classic graphic novels. He likes what he likes! He puts aside hours to peruse beloved, old comics.
Breweries
It’s fall, so men are all about the IPAs. And the best place to get one of those ales is at a brewery. If you can find a place offering homebrewing classes—even better. A man who will brew is a creative one (and he can probably cook!).
Hotel lounges
Sports bars are impossible to talk in, and some guys want a quieter place to watch the game. Your local upscale hotel bar will have the game on the big screens, and handsome men at the bar watching them.
Record stores
A man who is willing to wait for a record to start up—and to put up with some scratchy sounds to hear original tunes—is a patient man. Plus, a guy who loves records has great taste.
Best Buy
Okay, it’s not exactly classy, but since it’s cold, men are looking for ways to enjoy the indoors a bit more. They’re upgrading their entertainment systems. Head to electronics!
REI
REI and stores like it are known for making gear for hardcore outdoor enthusiasts. In the fall, this is where you’ll find the adventurous type. Men who camp in tents in the snow and buy hiking boots to scale mountains.
Butcher shops
Any man who really knows how to cook knows you go to a butcher shop for the best cuts. And since, in the fall, the best chefs are craving red meat, you might find your culinary cutie at a butcher counter.
Music conservatories
Maybe he is taking a class. Maybe he is teaching one. Maybe it’s his niece’s recital, or maybe he has a family member who teaches there. There are only good reasons for a man to spend time at a music conservatory.
Libraries
In a time when most people do their reading on their phones, you have to appreciate a man who drives to the library, gets a library card, and wanders the shelves in search of the perfect story. Who is this creature? What century is he from?
Your neighborhood coffee shop
I’m talking a simple coffee shop. Not one where you’re fed a 10-minute schpeel on the caramel flavor in each espresso. Go to a dependable coffee shop, with no frills, and you just might find good guys.
Lumberyards
Who wouldn’t want a man who can chop up wood to warm his house in the fall so you can drink wine by the fireplace?
The tailor
The classiest of men are hitting the tailor during the fall. They need fitted pants and jackets again, and they want to step out in style.
The soup section
All of my male friends are very familiar with the pre-made soup section at our local grocery store. They’re never without several cans of the stuff in their cabinets on any given week.
Martini bars
Not a sports bar. Not a singles bar. Not a cantina. Not even a “craft cocktail lounge” (no thank you to the pretentious suspenders and top hats). A straightforward martini bar. Men of character go there.
