I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant … Seriously?
3. Birth Control Makes You Less Suspicious
The good news: Many hormonal methods of birth control are up to 99% effective with perfect use and even barrier methods such as male condoms are 98% effective with perfect use. The bad news: Some women become completely dependent on these methods after engaging in unprotected sex and never becoming pregnant. This can lead to becoming more comfortable, less careful and not using the method as accurately. It also can lead to dangerous assumptions that there is NO chance of pregnancy when using contraception when in fact there is always at least a 1 or 2% chance. Most people have odds of 18 million to one of winning the lottery, but someone always manages to do it, right? It only takes once.
