There’s been a resurgence of natural hairstyles throughout popular culture. Singers like Keke Palmer and Keri Hilson are just a few of the celebrities that are helping to bring the braided look back. Braids or twists are one of the best protective hairstyles one could choose. They are easy and reliable.
Let us not forget the legends that came before us that started some of the trends that we see now. Re-introducting Patrice Rushen who was a trendsetting singer from the 1980’s. She made every girl jealous with her signature micro-breads and colorful beads. She rocked it throughout most of her career before switching it up. Rushen is known for her classics such as “Forget Me Nots” and “Haven’t You Heard.” Just thinking of some of her tunes makes us want to dance! Mary J.
