Celebrities With The Worst Driving Records

Celebrities are blessed with everything from beautiful voices to acting talents to athletic skills, but unfortunately not all are blessed with basic driving abilities. From Halle Berry to Michael Phelps – check out our list of celebs with the absolute worst driving records.

Justin Bieber

When not egging houses, peeing in buckets, tagging walls and hotboxing in airplanes Justin Bieber has managed to master the art of terrible driving. In July 2012 the pop star was involved in his first driving blunder: a high-speed chase with paparazzi down a crowded Los Angeles freeway. Four months later he was ticketed for making an unsafe turn with an expired registration. In 2013, cameras filmed Bieber hitting a paparazzo with his car before speeding off, and most recently the star was charged with a DUI, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license after racing through the streets of Miami.

And… to date, police have responded to two reports of Bieber speeding like a bat out of hell through his gated Calabasas, CA gated community. Lord.

Lil Twist

And clearly Justin Bieber’s friends don’t drive any better… It was Bieber’s bff Lil Twist who was behind the wheel when he was pulled over by police in Bieber’s car, and a paparazzo attempting to snap pics was hit and killed by an oncoming car. Barely two months later, Lil Twist crashed Bieber’s all-chrome-everything Fisker Karma (a luxury whip worth an estimated $100,000) into two cement poles outside of a liquor store. And four months after that debacle, Twist was arrested for driving under the influence in the SAME car right outside of Justin’s California home. With a friend like this who needs enemies?

Maya Rudolph

Last week Maya Rudolph swiped her car alongside a bunch of garbage cans, knocking her side view mirror off in the process. TMZ captured video and snapped pictures of the entire incident – including Maya hopping out of her vehicle to pick up her detached mirror from the street.

Halle Berry

In 2000 Halle Berry broadsided a vehicle in a Los Angeles neighborhood, fled the scene of the crime and claimed to not remember a thing. When the law finally caught up with her she was sentenced to three years probation, 200 hours of community service and a $13,500 fine. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the actress has also been involved in two other car accidents – one in 1997 and another in 2007 when she was pregnant with her first child Nahla.

J.R. Smith

In 2007 New York Knicks forward J.R. Smith was involved in two car accidents. In February of that year J.R. was driving Carmelo Anthony’s car when he was involved in a fender bender. Four months later he drove through a New Jersey stop sign and collided with another car. The crash was so severe that he and one of his passengers were ejected from the vehicle. J.R. suffered minor injuries while his passenger, Andre Bell, was killed.

J.R. was sentenced to 90 days in jail but was released after 24.

Michael Phelps

In 2004 Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps plead guilty to driving under the influence, underage drinking (he was 19 at the time) and failure to stop at a stop sign. For his plea, the judge dropped the DUI charge in exchange for Phelps’ successful completion of 18 months probation and community service. Five years later Phelps found himself in a similar situation when his vehicle collided with another drivers’. Phelps was cited for driving with a suspended license and admitted to drinking alcohol before the accident.

Chris Brown

In February 2013 Chris Brown totaled his Porsche after driving into an alleyway wall while fleeing paparazzi. Three months later Breezy rear-ended a vehicle and allegedly refused to exchange information with the driver, resulting in a nasty hit and run charge and (as usual) more bad press.

Dwight Eubanks

Not all bad drivers get into car accidents, apparently. In 2010 stylist and RHOA star Dwight Eubanks managed to drive his car directly into wet cement. Lucky for him a tow truck arrived just in time to remove the vehicle before the cement hardened.

Britney Spears

Britney Spears may be one of the biggest pop stars in history, but her driving record is nothing short of horrendous. In 2006 she came under fire for driving with her four month old baby on her lap and in 2009 she left her car completely unattended in the middle of the road after getting a flat tire. Britney also has hit-and-run and driving without a valid license charges under her belt, and has even been accused of driving over a paparazzo’s foot – twice.

Nicole Richie

In 2006 Nicole Richie was arrested for driving the wrong way on a California freeway and charged with driving under the influence. For the crime Richie spent exactly 82 minutes in jail before being slapped with probation.

George Michael

English singer George Michael spent eight weeks in jail after crashing his Range Rover through a North London camera shop in 2010. Four years before that he was convicted of driving while on drugs and temporarily lost his license.

Robin Givens

In 2004 Robin Givens was ticketed for running over an 89-year old pedestrian’s leg in Miami, FL. Although Givens faced serious charges for the offense – if convicted her driver’s license would’ve been snatched – charges were dismissed after police officers failed to determine the cause of the accident.

Amanda Bynes

Former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes has sideswiped two cars, rear-ended a vehicle, backed up onto a curb, been charged with a DUI and accused of hitting and running twice. Following her DUI arrest, the troubled star even reached out to President Obama tweeting “Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.”

Right.

Billy Joel

Billy Joel is definitely no stranger to car accidents – or the resulting consequences. Within two years the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was involved in three major car crashes, the third of which involved him driving smack dab into a house. Fortunately no one was seriously injured.
