If you read about celebrities in the news, you’ve surely seen stories here and there about celebrities who have been stalked. Most recently, the number of celebrities who claim to have stalkers has increased, probably due to the increase of celebrity presence on social networking websites and so on. In any event, celebrities, just like normal people, aren’t keen to want to deal with some crazy stalker. Here are 14 celebrities who have been stalked, and have done something about it.

After trespassing at Rihanna’s home by somehow finding himself on her roof, Robert Melanson was arrested and pleaded no contest in court. In June 2013, he was sentenced to six days in jail, three years probation, fines, and mental health treatment. Rihanna was clearly freaked out by the incident and Melanson is to stay 100 yards away from her.

Tyra Banks

Back in April 2009, Tyra Banks faced her stalker in court. Brady Green was charged with stalking as well as harassment after sending Tyra five dozen roses as well as calling her assistants. However, he did not have to serve any jail time. Instead, prosecutors called for him to seek a mental health professional as well as to get a job in order to fix his unhealthy obsession.

Catherine Zeta-Jones

After pleading no contest to stalking as well as threatening Catherine Zeta-Jones in 2005, Dawnette Knight was sentenced to three years in jail. Knight claimed that she had an affair with Zeta-Jones’ husband, but these allegations weren’t highly believed in court. After figuring out what hotel Zeta-Jones and her husband were staying at, Knight told the receptionist that she was going to kill Catherine by “blowing her head off.”

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis’ stalker, named Stuart Dunn, followed her to her gym, which prompted her to hide in her Range Rover until the police arrived at the location. Dunn was immediately arrested and in January 2013, after having already been charged and placed on probation for attempting to break into Kunis’ home in a previous incident. He’s been sentenced to rehabilitation and five years of probation.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has had all sorts of run ins with stalkers. Back in 2012, Jason Rivera, who was armed with scissors, knocked on her door after climbing the security fence. When police arrived, he claimed that Miley was his wife. Miley was awarded a three-year restraining order against Rivera and he also had to spend 18 months in jail. Hopefully he learned his lesson.

Halle Berry

Halle Berry’s stalker isn’t new to jail or to the criminal offenses he faced back in January 2012. Richard Franco was sentenced to 386 days in jail along with five years probation after pleading no contest to a felony stalking charge. He had attempted to break into Halle’s house three different times after scaling the wall that surrounds her home before finally being arrested.

Miranda Kerr

It’s one thing to stalk someone, but things go to an entirely new level when you start to threaten someone’s life. Model and new mom Miranda Kerr has had to deal with just that, after 52 year old Steven Swanson made plans to travel across the U.S. to kill Kerr, after stating that she was his wife and his soul mate. His ordeal may be explained by a past diagnosis of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Janet Jackson

Back in 2005, Janet Jackson was finally awarded a restraining order against Robert Gardner, who she said had been stalking her for more than nine years. A year before she obtained the restraining order, Gardner appeared at the set of “Saturday Night Live,” armed with a knife and a box cutter. Gardner had also tried to contact Jackson in the past, and some of his correspondence included “disturbing sexual references.”

Alec Baldwin

Female stalkers are just as bad as males. Back in 2012, Genevieve Sabourin, an actress from Canada, was charged with sending Baldwin harassing emails and then showing up to his house in New York City. She was arrested in April 2012 and in April 2013 shot down a plea that would only require her to stay away from Baldwin as well as having to undergo treatment. In July 2013 she claimed that she was poor and homeless, but stuck by her story that she and Baldwin had a relationship.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Most celebrities enjoy receiving letters from their fans, but Gwyneth Paltrow was receiving up to five letters a day from the same man. In 2000, Dante Soiu, a pizza deliveryman from Dublin, Ohio, was accused of stalking Paltrow through letters and random gifts. He was sent to a mental health facility for treatment. In 2013, Soiu was back in court after violating a protection order.

Mel Gibson

What’s a drifter from Idaho have to do in his free time? Stalk Mel Gibson! Back in 2005, 34 year old Zach Sinclair was charged with stalking Gibson, and was sentenced to three years in jail as well as having to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. Before his imprisonment, Sinclair was already ordered not to be within 100 yards of Mel Gibson or his home.

Ashley Tisdale

Ashley Tisdale’s stalker was one man who was determined in his efforts. Ever since early 2012, Nicholas Fiore had shown up to Tisdale’s home and tweeted her hundreds of times in efforts to get her attention. He once posed as a delivery man to get closer to Tisdale. After getting a temporary restraining order, she was finally given a 3 year order that requires Fiore to stay 100 yards away from her and her boyfriend at all times.

Uma Thurman

Uma Thurman’s stalker, named Jack Jordan, has been arrested twice in relation to stalking and harassing Thurman. Before 2011, Jordan was caught making harassing phone calls to Thurman and was court ordered to speak with a psychologist. However, not too long after, he was sentenced to probation after camping outside of her home. In November 2011, he was a free man, after acknowledging his guilt.

In June 2012, it was reported that Usher was being stalked by a woman named Darshelle Jones-Rakestraw, who believed that she was married to Usher and would often make random appearances at his home in Georgia. Even after having the cops called on her, she still returned to his residence. Usher was granted a temporary restraining order that eventually upgraded to a permanent one. Darshelle lashed back, posting a YouTube video stating that Usher had been sending her money for years and promising her all sorts of goodies, including a new home.
