Stay Hot

Tia’s take on getting foxy for your fellow:

“After you’ve been with one person for awhile, it’s easy to fall into what I call the ‘sweats’ rut.  That is, you no longer feel like you have to impress them and start paying less and less attention to your appearance, and every day becomes a sweats and t-shirt kind of day.  Now I’m definitely not saying that you need to be frantically hitting the gym everyday to keep the body you had 5 years ago, but it is important to remember to still make an effort sometimes.

“Swipe on some red lipstick, sleek back your hair and put on a LBD to surprise him one night – it will not only make you feel attractive (which, I don’t know about you guys, but always puts me in a good mood :), but it will remind him of his attraction to you! And remember, some Hot lingerie never hurt no one 😉 Remember what I did to spice things up with Cory! Hey, sometimes you gotta be willing to try new things – just try not to hurt yourself! Lol!”

Be Verbal

Compliments go a long way according to Tia who once said:

“When your hubby looks fine in that suit of his, tell him!  A lot of times, all it takes is a couple of loving words here and there every day to keep a relationship strong throughout the years.   Especially as women, if we take an hour to get ready for something, then we want to know our efforts are being appreciated! Lol. Don’t be afraid to tell your significant other you’re proud of him, or love him, or that think he looks Hot after mowing the lawn! Lol.”

Go On Unique Dates

Tia notes the importance of quality time after a couple has been together for a while, saying:

“After a husband and wife (or even girlfriend and boyfriend) have been together for awhile, dates sort of fade into the background – after all, dates are what you do when you are getting to know each other in the beginning of the relationship, right? Wrong! It’s so important that couples still go on dates, no matter how long they’ve been together. It gives you guys quality alone time to really just focus on each other.

“If the standard ‘dinner and a movie’ starts feeling routine, start thinking of unique dates to go on with each other. Crazy, adrenaline-rushing activities are so much fun to do with your significant other, but even a low key hike through a trail you’ve never been to before can get you out of a relationship rut.”

Know When You’re Ready

Tamera follows these rules when determining the right time to tie the knot:

“My general rule of thumb is that you should never rush into anything, especially in love.  When it comes to relationships, I always tell my girlfriends: It’s never how you start, it’s how you finish.  Marriage is a serious commitment and should never be entered lightly.  Take your time! Adam and I knew each other for 6 years before we got married.  You should take time to self-reflect and make sure you are completely ready for the next step.

“To make a relationship last, I think it’s so important to know and love yourself first.  If that takes a while, so be it.  I knew I was ready when I felt content with who I was as a person – at that moment, I knew exactly what I wanted in myself and what I wanted in a spouse.”

“Lastly, it was really important for me to know my husband though thick and thin so there would be no surprises after we tied the knot…ha!  Surprises can be nice, but I wanted to be completely sure that I really knew the man I was committing my life to, from the inside out.”

Show Your Love

Tia focuses on the little things you can do for your boo that really add up:

“You might not think the little things matter once you’ve been together for a while, but they really do.  Small things like flowers or handwritten notes really show your significant other you don’t take them for granted.  It also helps remind you of the excitement you felt when your relationship first started. You don’t always have to buy things either – simple touches like surprising them with breakfast in bed or making an old fashioned mix tape are all sweet ways to show your love.  I wouldn’t turn down a nice back massage either…”
