Online dating has become one of the most popular ways of finding love in today’s world. No matter if you’re using a dating website, Facebook, or some other type of social network, you definitely aren’t alone in trying to find a boyfriend. One of the drawbacks of online dating is the fact that, at least temporarily, there’s no physicality to the relationship. If a guy kisses you or tries to hold your hand in person, it’s obvious that he likes you. But online, it can be a bit tougher to really know if a guy is genuinely that interested. Here are 14 ways to know if an online prospect likes you or not.
He initiates convo with you
When a guy is interested in you, he is more likely to try to talk to you as much as possible. No matter if he’s sending you an email, a message, or chatting with you on GMail, starting a conversation shows that he may have some feelings towards you. When a guy isn’t too interested, you definitely won’t hear much from him.
He pushes to make things more personal
So you two met on a dating website and you’ve been talking for a few weeks now. If a guy is really into you, he will push to talk to you on a more personal level. Maybe he offers you his email or phone number. Whatever he does, by making this attempt, it shows he clearly wants more.
Your conversations last a while
The days of the hello-goodbye conversations are gone and instead you two find yourselves talking for hours at a time. If you have long conversations that actually hold your attention, there’s a connection between you two. Beware though, in person conversation isn’t always so easy.
He wants to see you
Though your schedules may not mesh up for the next few weeks, this guy urges to see you, somehow, so he comes up with the idea of Skyping. Whenever a guy wants to see you on webcam, he is trying to get that sense of being physically with you. Another green flag that e-sparks are flying.
He uses emoticons a lot
This is definitely a girl thing, but guys are known to do it when they’re interested in a women. You’ve surely added a smiley face to a text or message you’ve sent before in order to add that extra sense of emotion. If a guy you’ve been talking to sends you messages with consistent smiles and winks, he’s definitely feeling you.
You make time to talk to him
Even on your busiest and most hectic of days, you still find ways to talk to him. You make time to communicate, even if it’s a short email or text message. This shows that you obviously want to talk to him which definitely proves that a spark is there.
You get mushy texts and emails
In the morning you wake up to a “miss you” text. Or at night you make sure to call him to say goodnight. The “miss yous,” “can’t wait to meet yous,” and so on all point towards a huge connection, and you know that after you read them, you’re all but glowing. Though it’s a digital spark, the emotions are on the rise.
He’s flirty
Some people are natural flirts, but if a guy feels a connection with you, he’s bound to be more flirtatious more freely. Look at the messages he sends you. Do they give off flirty vibes? If so, he wants to get to know you as more than just a friend.

You’ve started sexting
Though it doesn’t always happen, you may find that the spark is so strong that you two start sexting each other. And while nothing is wrong with it, you want to make sure that it isn’t too premature or too uncomfortable for you. But, if the physical sparks are there, let them fly!
He has a pet name for you
After you’ve talked for awhile, it isn’t unlikely for a guy to start calling you a pet name; babe, baby, boo, whatever it is that he decides to call you. When these words start to appear on the screen or over the phone, it’s clear that he’s feeling you.
You’ve both started to integrate each other into your lives
Every couple of days you two have planned times that you’ve set aside in order to spend some time talking. Though you may make plans, over time you’ll start to realize that you’re naturally fitting each other into your schedules. This is definitely a huge sign that there are some digital sparks flying.
The compliments are flying
No matter what you’re talking about or when the two of you are talking, it’s all but known that you’ll compliment each other. By giving out compliments randomly and constantly, it’s nothing short of obvious that there is something going on between you two. Compliments are solid proof of sparks!
You’ve started planning in-person activities
Meeting plans are in the making, and some of them are quite detailed. In a few weeks you plan to go to a museum and then to a fancy restaurant. After that you two have plans to visit a nearby city. When you start making future plans, there’s a good future ahead for you two!
He deleted his dating profile
When a guy is really into you and wants to become exclusive with you, don’t be surprised if he closes his profile on the dating site you two met on. This clearly shows that he wants to dedicate his time and effort to you, opposed to spending time on a site. He’s already got you in his sights, so why waste more time?
