Married at First Sight Season 12 Cast

Last night, we watched as the last two couples, Haley and Jacob and Chris and Paige tied the knot. Honestly, the whole episode could have been devoted to all of the cringey, red-flag moments that took place at Chris and Paige’s wedding but we’ll get to that a bit later. In the meantime, let’s discuss what stood out to us about each of the couples this go-round.

Haley

Can I just say I’m worried for Haley. Not only because she’s been single for seven years and admittedly dismisses men before she gives them a chance but before she walked down the aisle, she seemed to be waiting for the other shoe to drop. Where most brides are a bit optimistic–albeit nervous on their wedding day–they’re still hopeful. And Haley seems to be dwelling solely on the negative outcomes. To be honest, that would totally be me in that situation–and this is why this whole concept would never work for me. But if you sign up, you have to do so with a lot of hope.

Thankfully, she relaxed as she went down the aisle but I’m concerned. We’ll see what’s in store for her.

Jacob

Jacob is super nerdy and quite a bit awkward as well. But honestly, he seems like a sweet guy. And I could see someone–hopefully Haley–getting into his distinct type of humor. It’s great that Jacob is attracted to Haley and even went so far as to call her majestic. No word on what she thinks of his looks so far but time will tell. And as centuries and even “Married at First Sight” has proven, women are much more likely to come around when they’re not initially physically attracted to their partners.

Vincent

We didn’t get to see our faves Vincent and Briana all that much this week; but in the time that we did, Vincent continued to impress us. I really appreciated him approaching Briana’s father to assure him that he has every intention of taking care of their daughter. Very sweet. You can tell Vincent is a little bit more reserved but he steps up in the right moments.

Briana

I love the moment where Briana’s friend came over to her for the debrief about how she was feeling on her wedding day. The two went down the list of Vincent’s physical attributes and both seem to be in agreement that he’s got it. We love to see it. It was so authentic and so adorable. Also, Briana’s energy is just calm and relaxed. She seemed so at peace having just married a stranger. But like she told her friend, “I don’t trust people but he’s very comforting.” That’s the energy we’re looking for.

Clara

Sis is still complaining about her hair and makeup but literally looked no different when she took it off–which makes me wonder did she take it all off. But that’s really neither here nor there. I still have my concerns about her temperament for this process and wonder if she’ll be able to react appropriately when she’s inevitably confronted with aspects of Ryan’s personality she doesn’t like.

Ryan

Again, they haven’t shown Ryan doing or saying too much. The one moment that stuck out though was the fact that Clara’s friend asked how he is in the physical department. Totally inappropriate and I honestly wondered what was homegirl’s problem. What was the purpose of asking that question? Perhaps, Clara will find out for herself soon enough. And then it will be her decision whether she decides to share that bit of intel with her girlfriends on national television. Thankfully, Ryan handled this situation very well.

Chris

A small part of me was hoping that I had misjudged Chris and he was going to show his softer, more mature side during his wedding and reception. But that’s not the way it went. Last week, Chris kept talking about the need for him to be attracted to his wife. And initially, we thought he was. He told her he thought she was beautiful but apparently, that wasn’t entirely true.

Later, he told her friends that Paige wasn’t what he wanted but what he needed. And said that she wasn’t a trophy wife or the type of woman he’d usually date. Her friends didn’t check him enough over those thinly veiled comments for me.

Speaking to producers he said that while he enjoyed the conversations he had with Paige he wasn’t 100 percent attracted to her physically.

The Ex

Initially, I thought it could possibly be a good thing that Chris told Paige about his ex right away. I mean it was bound to come out sooner of later. But the fact that he didn’t even have the foresight to avoid mentioning that Paige and his ex had the same breed of dog likely suggests that homegirl is still lingering on his mind. Then again, it’s only been a few months. How would one be over an entire engagement?

He told Paige that the two of them didn’t trust one another but I need more answers. Something else was at the root–and I’d not only love to know what it was, I’d also like to know if there was overlap in Chris’ last relationship and his decision to apply for this show.

Get Yo Daddy

This is why you can’t give people your trust just because they tell you they’re a “Christian.” Chris and his whole family claim to be God-fearing people but from the reception, it was clear they still need to work on that relationship. How many remarks were going to be made about Paige’s shape and figure? From the daddy and from Chris himself. At one point, when Chris was talking about her behind, one of his family members said, “Hallelujah!” Come on now! Where is the class?

And it was painfully and embarrassingly clear that Chris’ father was too entirely too much with his son’s new bride. Bruh was looking like a old wolf, sitting right next to his own wife. And while the wife laughed off his marital advice about “being intimate” with Chris when he comes home from work, I didn’t find it funny or appropriate. Y’ALL DON’T KNOW HER!

And don’t know any situation where it’s appropriate for a father to be giving his daughter-in-law sex advice.

Paige

I was happy to see that Paige didn’t let Chris’ news of his past engagement skate by her. She immediately asked him if there was a possibility that he might be still holding on to some things. And later, she inquired about what broke them up in the first place. She told production, it’s not a huge red flag but a yellow one. We’ll see about that.

Listen to your friend, Paige

The line of the night came from Paige’s friend who seems to have her antennas up when it comes to Mr. Williams. They’ve all spotted the jig but she seems to be the only considering what his behavior today could mean for he and Paige in the future. She gave her a good warning without being too negative on her wedding day. “Take your time. I’m just wanting to see how he earns and keeps your heart.”
