Anytime Black women come together it’s a magical moment, and this past weekend more than 1,000 women bonded over smoothies and Fit Sticks as they were initiated into the sweat sisterhood at PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT in Atlanta.
Attendees traveled as far as London for the five-hour event held at the Georgia Freight Depot on September 14. Celebs like Toya Wright and WNBA player Renee Montgomery game out for the festivities, as did several popular fitness influencers and health and wellness experts like Brittnebabe, Kasey B., Lauren Powers, Ronnie Howard, and Lauren Cole. The women guided guests through a variety of exercise routines from stretching sessions and Hip-Hop strength conditioning to yoga, cycling, and Crunch’s infamous Pound workout.

The wellness offerings didn’t end there with attendees sipping on healthy beverages and sampling fit snacks as they played pickup ball on the court or jumped rope in between workout sessions. Speaking to us about the star power of the event earlier this month, founder Aeshia DeVore Branch said:
“At a time when the fitness world began exploding online, we built brand authenticity and trust, changed the face of fitness, and erased the negative stigma that sweat holds. As a result, my relationships, our team’s professionalism, and PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT’s mission-based focus to combat childhood obesity attracted celebrity and influencer support. What we do well is making fitness fun by helping women meet new friends while incorporating philanthropy into Hip-Hop culture. And influencers gravitate towards that.”
