The Real talk show host Adrienne Houghton is living in the lap of luxury on her family vacation in Hawaii taking time away from the grind and the bright lights to refocus and regroup in the ocean breeze.
While on the beach, she’s found times to snap a few pics, showing off her curvy frame. One of Houghton’s fans noticed and complimented her on her fuller figure.
Instagram user @Karla_y_parro asked the talk show host, “How did you get thicker? You used to have the slender body type now your curvy. I’m trying to get curves in the right places too.”
“Honestly age… I always had hips… but I’ve gained 20lbs,” Houghton began. “So… there’s that. Lol. But, honestly love your body the way it is… you always want you don’t have. When I was thinner I complained about my body & now I wish I was thin like before… but i try my best to embrace what I have. Getting in this bikini took bravery lol. Healthy is what’s most beautiful!”
Houghton has been open about her Hashimoto’s Disease diagnosis, which is a thyroid disease that causes weight gain and inflammation. Last summer Houghton shared the hardships of the criticism she’s received over her weight.
“If I’m honest, my weight gain in the last few years has been like a struggle for me where I’m like, I never looked at myself as being overweight. And it was weird to hear so many comments at one point that I was fat, and ‘Oh my God, she let herself go!’ I was like, ‘Whoa.’ So that was a little bit weird,” she said.
“I just did what I had to do to be comfortable in my own skin. And I think that’s the most important thing. It wasn’t necessarily to please other people. I actually, genuinely, didn’t like the way I looked. And every day it’s a work in progress. You know, girl get up and do some cardio. More than looking good, it’s actually healthy for you to eat healthy and actually get a little workout in. So as I get older, I get that it’s going to be harder and harder, but I’m up for the challenge.”
By the looks of things she’s enjoying life and loving the skin she’s in.
