Eddie Murphy has been suspected of being gay ever since the 1997 arrest of a transsexual prostitute who he claimed just happened to be in his car for no sexual reason. Since then, the actor has stuck to this story, even adding that he was simply being a “good Samaritan” by giving the young “woman” a ride. But this wouldn’t be the last time we’d hear about Eddie Murphy’s sexuality. Following the incident, numerous sources reported seeing the actor cruising through West Hollywood neighborhoods known for transsexual prostitution. Not to mention his close friendship with New Edition member, Johnny Gill; a relationship that has long been side-eyed for being more intimate than friendly. It’s even been speculated that Murphy and Gill’s down-low arrangement was the direct cause of Murphy’s divorce from Nicole.
