You need people who will vouch for you if you’re going to progress to leadership positions.
Ask a woman you trust—who can be open with you—to sample your interview process. She should look at the application, and go through ever step of the interview process. She can point out any inherent biases against women that may exist in the process.
God forbid a woman become buddies with a male in the workplace who could potentially help with her career. Other women will say she’s betraying “her side.” Meanwhile, amongst men, befriending someone who can help with your career is just called networking.
