Sitting at the edge of the bar
Sit in the middle of the bar, so you’re surrounded by other patrons. This way, they can overhear your conversation and notice if you’re uncomfortable. Bartenders also tend to hang out in the middle of the bar, so you can give them a signal if you need help.
