All week I’ve been having conversations with people who are trying to make things happen for themselves and feel like they should just give up. They’re frustrated they don’t have the support of friends and family that they expected; their funds are uncertain or nearly obsolete; they’re having trouble simply believing in themselves and their abilities.
It’s a dark place to be in, and one many will be in possibly many different times as they take leaps of faith, step out of their comfort zones, and try to create opportunities for themselves and impart change. And so, if you are on the brink of giving up, or don’t know how you can go on, be encouraged by these words and keep persevering.
“Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it’s not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won’t. It’s whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere.’
-Barack Obama
“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
-Nelson Mandela
‘Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.’
-Calvin Coolidge
-Travis Bradberry
“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”
-Thomas Edison
-B.F. Skinner
-Harriet Beecher Stowe
-John D. Rockefeller
– Tom Hiddleston
“Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing.”
-Abraham Lincoln
-Charles Jones
“Failure is a bend in the road, not the end of the road. Learn from failure and keep moving forward.”
-Roy T. Bennett
“The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems.”
-Mahatma Gandhi
-Anthony Robbins
