Last night, the biggest celebrity costume ball of the year took place in New York City. The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute benefit, also known as The Met Gala, has been dubbed “the party of the year,” and for good reason. One, tickets are $30,000 a piece; two, the benefit is invitation-only; and three, it’s one of few times we get to see stars really show their creative sides on the red carpet.
The theme for this year’s gala was Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between. Kawakubo is a a Japanese fashion designer whose company, Comme des Garçons, specializes in anti-fashion and deconstructed garments. Here’s how celebs interpreted her work at the gala last night.
