Ladies, there’s a new birth control in town. It’s called Kyleena, and it was recently approved for release in October. If you’re thinking about doing something different when it comes to your contraception, or just want to know what Kyleena is, we’ve got you covered.

This new form of contraception is meant to be, according to The Huffington Post, “the first device of its kind meant to offer long-lasting contraception to women who have never been pregnant.” The not-so-good news? Kyleena can cost around $500 to $900 to insert if you don’t have insurance. But if you do have insurance, it might be covered in full.

It’s an IUD

You Can Use It Even If You’ve Never Been Pregnant
It’s one of Kyleena’s biggest benefits.
Once upon a time, IUDs like Kyleena were only for women who didn’t want any more children because they might cause infertility.
Kyleena doesn’t pose this risk, and you can get pregnant as soon as your first period after you have it removed. In fact, 71 percent of women who tried got pregnant within the first year after taking it out.
