Situations That Show You People’s True Colors

How did you end up being so close with the people in your circle? I’m sure there was a situation that put your relationship to the test or just brought you together. Whatever it was, you came out on the other side with a sense of trust and love for one another. You meet people all of the time, and while many seem like great individuals, it’s hard to say that you really know a person until you go through one of these complicated situations together.
It feels great when someone surprises you and shows you that your connection goes deeper than you initially thought. Unfortunately, not every relationship makes it through bumps in this road of life, and you quickly find out who’s a permanent acquaintance and who was just meant to be around for a season (make that a few seasons).
Have you ever gone through one of these situations and someone close to you showed you their true colors?
Reach a Goal First
Whether you have professional success or jump the broom, being the first to reach a certain milestone in life can bring out the good (or bad) in your friends.
Ask Them to Borrow Something
Some people are generous. Others? They can get really funny when it comes to their stuff.
Travel With Them
They say you never really know a person until you hit the road together.
Disagree About Something Important
Find yourself on opposite sides of an issue of importance like politics or religion and you will find out how they really feel (about a whole lot of things).
Visit Their House
You never really know someone until you see where they live and their upkeep (or lack thereof) of it.
Eat With Them
Have you ever been so shocked by someone’s table manners that it made you think differently of them? Or maybe you found out that Mr. At Least I Thought He Was Right was actually rude when you saw how he treated the waitress? The smallest things can expose a person’s true colors.
Lend Them Some Money
This relationship test is so tough, we’ve all seen it land people and their so-called “friends” on court shows.
Live With Them
Get ready for surprises (and arguments) around every corner.
Work On a Project Together
You might find that you have a partner for life, or learn that friends and business don’t necessarily mix.
Need a Shoulder to Lean On
Or a serious support system like a temporary place to stay. They say you don’t know who your real friends are until you’ve struggled with them.
Tell Them a Secret
You will soon find out if they can keep it quiet or if they spill like a teacup with a crack in it.
Play a Game With Them
Like dominoes, poker, or Monopoly. You find a lot about people when you tap into their competitive side.
