What happens when Brazil and Scandinavia come together? You get a beautifully bold set of pieces that will transform your home without breaking your wallet.

The tray has high edges to keep items from sliding off the surface and also doubles as a musical instrument.
Available at Ikea March 20, the limited edition Tillfälle Collection is the perfect blend of striking patterns and modern simplicity in a color palette that will make you forget you don’t actually live in one of the most vivacious countries in the world when you walk through your front door. The set features everything from decorative pieces like carved candle holders, rugs, and lamp shades to actual furniture such as cabinets, stools, and coffee tables. You can even remix your backsplash with patterned wall tiles.
“Even though there are many similarities between Scandinavian and Brazilian design and architecture, it is the differences in the Brazilian way of life that IKEA wants to celebrate,” Mette Nissen, the Creative Leader of the Tillfälle Collection, said on Ikea.com.
Plus, if you know Ikea like we do, you’re already aware you can snatch up multiple items in this collection without blowing your re-decorative budget (if you have one). Most of the Tillfälle items are far less than $50, and even the flatwoven rugs are reasonable at $120 and $70 bucks. For a stool, you’ll only have to shell out $100, while the multi-color cabinet — with sliding doors — is a moderate $329 dollars.
Check out some of the cute pieces on the next few pages. What do you think?
