Notable Rappers Who Were Born Rich

Lil Romeo now known as simply Romeo was is the son  of mega rapper and business entrepreneur Master P. Romeo Miller  became a heartthrob rapper with hit songs like My Baby‘ and ‘2 Way.’ which got him gold and platinum sells.

He did take a break to play ball at USC but that didn’t pan out and he’s now trying to revive his rap career.

Ricky Hill formerly Rich Hill is the son of fashion mogul Tommy Hilfiger.  The tatted up and reportedly drug addicted rapper grew up in  the affluent Connecticut suburbs, surrounded by wealth and celebrities.

Though he’s signed a deal with Warner Bros the web constantly slams him for his ‘lame skills’ despite having over 18 mix tapes and collabos with artists like the Weekend, Leona Lewis and Kid Cudi.

Jaden Smith is the spawn of  mega famous and wealthy actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith.  This handsome kid has been making moves since day one.

Not only was he one of the highest paid child actors in Hollywood for his role in ‘The Karate Kid,’ pulling in a reported $3M but he has released several tracks and collaborated with both his sister Willow Smith and Justin Bieber.

O’Shea Jr. aka OMG (Oh My Goodness) is the son of  80s Compton rapper Ice Cube and unlike his father he grew up with a lavish lifestyle thanks to his dad’s net worth of  nearly $100M.

He made his official rap debut on his father’s album, ‘I Am the West’, following it up with his first mixtape, ‘Jackin’ For Beats.’  We here good things, so we’ll be on the look out.

Diggy Simmons is not only handsome and rich but he’s actually got skills. The son of Rev. Run and nephew to media mogul Russell Simmons, this young MC has got quite the boost.

On top of that he’s had several mix tapes, a studio album and a spot on XXL’s annual Freshmen list, and a co-sign by Kanye West for his leading freestyle piece ‘Made You Look.’

JoJo Simmons, Diggy’s older brother is also in the rapping business but on the flip side he’s not doing quite so well.

In fact despite a lavish upbringing (you know mansions and cars and all that) he’s had run-ins with the law and for some reason his lyrics tend to piss off folks.

Chet Haze is the rapping son of wait for it… Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks! Yup! Chet Haze is really Chet Hanks and his daddy’s money has reportedly allowed him to finance his not-so-stellar hip-hop career.

Like Ricky Hill he’s Internet fodder for the likes of Gawker and others. Gawker, who has described his work as, “some janky Justin Timberlake-grabs-the-mic-at-the-8th-grade-school-dance type s—.”  But apparently his dad continues to encourage him.

So So Def founder  Jermaine Durpri  had a leg up in the music industry thanks to his father Michael Mauldin, former president of Colombia Records. At the age of 12, Jermaine landed a gig as a dancer for the group Whodini. (Does anyone have this clip?)

While known more for producing than rapping he’s launched the career of many artist under his own label and has produced award winning tracks for artists like TLC, Janet Jackson, Usher, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys.
