Having sex on your period can ease your PMS symptoms. The muscle contractions of the uterus that occur during an orgasm can, “offer a soothing internal massage,” according to Everyday Health. This can relieve menstrual cramps.

While sex on your period offers many benefits, it is also riskier in the STD department. Everyday Health tells us that because the cervix opens up during menstruation, your body is more susceptible to bacteria getting in.
