We all have a family member or relative that we don’t get along with. But these celebrities took their family feuds one step further and have stopped speaking to their loved ones altogether. And in some cases, their behavior caused them to be given the cold shoulder by the one group of people who should always have your back. Here are 12 stars who disowned or were disowned by a family member.
WENNTracy Morgan
Funnyman Tracy Morgan almost lost his life when a Walmart truck slammed into the vehicle he was riding in last year. When his mother, Alicia Warden, went to visit her famous son in the hospital, she was turned away. A few years earlier, Warden was facing foreclosure and her daughter, Asia Morgan, publicly chided her brother for not swooping in with his checkbook to bail her out. But Tracy spoke out and revealed that he hadn’t spoken to his mother in more than a decade: “I am saddened that these untrue stories about me have people questioning my commitment to my family,” the “30 Rock” star said in a statement. “For reasons that are between us, I have not seen my Mother in 11 years and outside of a random call here and there have had little to no contact with my sister.”

50 Cent
Over the years we’ve watched rapper 50 Cent publicly diss his exes, his former friends, and repeatedly throw his baby mama Shaniqua Tompkins under the bus. But he hit a new low with a text message tirade against his oldest son, Marquise Jackson. The Queens rapper became irate when Marquise failed to answer the door during a custody visit last year and he decided to go all the way off. The text messages, which were leaked, read: “I don’t have a son anymore. I will have nothing to do with you. Don’t text me ever again.” The two have yet to make peace.
Halle Berry
Halle Berry is estranged from her sister. The Oscar-winning actress’ half-sister, Renee, has accused her of cutting off the Black side of her family: “I tried to contact her through her website, to congratulate her on her Oscar, but no one got back to me,” her sister said. “We would love to meet Nahla. We are desperate to understand why Halle is so upset, why she feels she cannot be with us.”

Stacey Dash
Stacey Dash caught a LOT of flack when she came out in support of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in 2012. She caught even more of it when she decided to become a contributing correspondent for Fox News. Sadly, a lot of that flack came from her own family members. “My family and I have not spoken,” the Clueless star revealed recently. “My cousin Damon and my brother [Darien, CEO of DME] were role models to me because they were great capitalists. Now we’re not really talking because they were the ones who told me to keep my mouth shut. They felt that I should do certain things because I’m black. Certain friends don’t speak to me any more either.”
Jennifer Aniston
The one thing family members of celebrities should not do is interviews about their famous relatives. Jennifer Aniston’s mother found that out the hard way. In 1996, Nancy Dow gave an interview about their rocky relationship that angered the “Friends” star. But Dow was undeterred because she went a step further and wrote a book that provided even more details about their relationship a few years later. Aniston refused to talk to her mother for about nine years, but she came around when she split from Brad Pitt and needed some genuine love and support.

Kelly Rowland
Rowland’s father, Christopher Lovett, had a serious drinking problem and wasn’t really present in the singer’s life after her mother left him. He split from Rowland’s mother, Doris Garrison, when Rowland was 7 and didn’t keep in touch. After 23 years without contact, he finally reached out to try and reconcile with his famous daughter, but he didn’t do it through the phone. He reached out to Rowland through an interview with “The Daily Mirror” and begged for her forgiveness. Rowland didn’t appreciate him going public, but she did say that she would like to patch things up with him in the future. “He reached out to me saying he wanted to see me, but it’s unfortunate he did it so publicly,” the former Destiny’s Child member said. “I want to meet him, and soon, I really do. I forgave him a long time ago.”
Vanessa Minnillo-Lachey
It must be very hard to maintain a relationship with your mother after she abandons you. That’s what happened to Vanessa Minnillo-Lachey when her mother, Helen Bondoc, left the star and her brother after divorcing from her father. They haven’t spoken to each other in more than 20 years, and when the former “Entertainment Tonight” correspondent married Nick Lachey in 2011, Bondoc was left out in the cold. “I didn’t have a clue that Vanessa was getting married. I still think about her all the time, and I still love her dearly,” she said.
Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson has her biological father’s last name, but when it comes to who she calls “Pa,” that honor belongs to Kurt Russell, the longtime partner of her mother, Goldie Hawn. “[Bill Hudson] doesn’t know me from a hole in the wall,” Hudson told Vanity Fair magazine. “But I don’t care. I have a dad [Russell]. The bottom line is, you call your kids on their f**king birthday. I’m glad I had a dad who was there on my birthday.”

Drew Barrymore
I think we all know by now that Drew Barrymore had a pretty rough childhood filled with drugs and dysfunction. The child star ended up emancipating herself at 15 and moved into her own apartment because of her parents’ erratic behavior. Her relationship with her mother, Jaid, is non-existent. So far, the two haven’t been able to work things out, even after the Charlie’s Angels star became a mother herself: “I’ve never just been angry with her,” Barrymore said. “I’ve always felt guilt and empathy and utter sensitivity. But we can’t really be in each other’s lives at this point.”

Kendra Wilkinson
Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett hit a very rough patch in her marriage recently, but she also had a major falling out with her family members. The reality star was disowned by her family after she decided to keep them in the dark about her second pregnancy. Her mother, Patti Wilkinson, heard that she was expecting through the grapevine and called her daughter up with some choice words. But it was her younger brother, Colin, who took to his Twitter account to vent. “Every1 plz never ask me about my sister again. She is no longer a part of my life. She’s an inconsiderate psychotic b*tch. I’m done,” he tweeted.
Macaulay Culkin
Macaulay Culkin’s father, Kit Culkin, served as Macaulay’s manager when he first entered the entertainment industry, but after shooting 14 movies in six years, Macaulay had enough. When he turned 16 years old, the child star emancipated himself from his parents to finally gain access to the money his father had been withholding from him. His younger brother Kieran would follow suit, and both brothers were eventually able to control and have access to their own earnings.
Julie Chen
Julie Chen shocked viewers tuning in to “The Talk” when she revealed that she elected to have cosmetic surgery on her eyes. When she was a young and aspiring anchorwoman in Dayton, Ohio, an executive producer told Chen that her slanted eyes would hold her back. Chen revealed that she agonized over the decision with her family, but some relatives turned their back on her after she went through with the surgery. “We had a long conversation about if it would be denying my heritage,” she explained. “You know, my mom calls one auntie, my father calls an uncle… it spread to my entire family. It divided the family. Members of my family wanted to disown me if I got it done.”
