For a brief time, Jon Gosselin, his wife Kate and their eight children were reality television staples. But after several seasons, the show went from “Jon and Kate Plus 8” to just “Kate Plus 8” when the couple split up. Jon soon found out how expensive it was to take care of eight children without a reality television check coming in. He tried working odd jobs including a waiter at a restaurant but it still wasn’t enough to cover all of his bills and he was faced with the option to either pay his child support or the rent to keep a roof over his head.
